If you launch any game you need edge to create a game, if you join it you don't need edge to join. In any case you need edge to pay to other players if you loose, so to join game you also need edge, but edge will not be decremented when you joining, in case where you launching the game you need edge to pay and also edge will be decremented when you creating the game.
