How ZTips can save the world?
To understand the origin of ZTips, we must first understand the nature of crime prevalent in our society and how we, as a society, cope with it.

What would you do if encountered by an unprecedented scenario?

Imagine yourself on a warm Sunday evening, strolling through the countryside, inhaling the sight of growing dusk. Suddenly, you find yourself startled by the sound of gunshots and the flamingo sun immersed in your iris explodes in fear.

You peep into the bushes behind you and discover a man’s body, lying prostrate in the mud and the fleeting faces of two brawny men walking away.

You feel morally obliged to report the crime; you wish to report the crime but chances are you may not.

Statistically, there is a mere 39% possibility that you will report this crime and that too if you live in the States. In developing and less developed countries, the chances are significantly lower and the very fact that the modern man lives in a society, so perilous, is quite unsettling.

People all over the world have deep-rooted fears that prevent them from reporting crimes.
Why it so? Vulnerability with revelation of identity?
Yes, sir! The moment a report is filed, the information provider finds himself in a precarious scenario, one where the possibility of danger is always looming above his head and above the heads of his loved ones. The countless instances of witnesses meeting terrible ends only further aggravate the fear. The system usually fails to provide substantial protection and even when provided it comes at a heavy cost.

There are other reasons too why anonymity is crucial for encouraging crime reporting. Sometimes, menacing social conditions and social stigmas make it challenging for a victim to report the crime. This is especially the case for crimes like rape and domestic violence.

At other times, it may simply not be physically feasible for the victim to report a crime at a police station. The painstaking, tedious procedures only act as further deterrents.
But there is online reporting systems, does they din't solve this problem?
While online reporting systems today do overcome some of the drawbacks of physical crime reporting, they do so only partially. These systems remain unfriendly, confined to territorial jurisdiction, lack any provisions for a crime-prevention framework and do not shield the information provider with anonymity, exposing them to various dangers.

Want to know the difference between Sentinel Protocol and Ztips?
Sentinel and ztips are completely different. We are building anonymous protocol for crime and tip reporting where we are using zkSNARKS and IPFS and building World's first ZAPP on Ethereum blockchain. But Sentinel protocol is talking about security of blockchain and its applications.
