Shit I'm not too late for the Pre-sale bonus.

Hold my nano ledger boys, I'm going all in on this one.

MOON OR BUST

From the dude who coined Investardz (pl. & sg.; formerly Investard[.s.]), it's ...

MOON OR STYX

Think: Straight to hell sans a paddle.

Used in context: RateCoin is SYTXing/Styxing/styxing (perhaps not the latter since "Styx" is a proper noun, albeit acceptable for all intent and purposes giving the coinage (no pun intended) a tad latitude (STYXing, not RateCoin; in hindsight, I should have penned: giving the neologism a tad latitude, but I digress).

Okay, let's set the facts straight. Yes, I am theymos' cat. And no I don't work for the NSA, albeit I may or may not work for the CIA. I'll be doin' an AMA on this BBS, so please advise as to which section I should pen such in since I'm new to this forum.

PS: As far as I know, user Bruno is in no way control of this newly created user account.

Thank you.

I am in the midst of the patent process for said formula but judging by the majority of commenters I'm sure its completely safe here. You're not going to be impressed. But the formula is this:

(Merit + 1) / Posts x Activity = Worthiness Score

I've found it doesn't work for certain categories of posters, but the average is about 100. I think I'll do a Meta thread about it eventually.

A patent on the worthiness score? Tongue
I initially couldn't figure out wtf you were doing a +1 for but I'm realizing now it's probably to stop those with 0 merit from screwing up the formula??

yep. the patent is necessary because I'm building an ICO based around it. And if you believe that I have some HoweyCoins to sell you!

Yes you are correct about the +1. And if you take into consideration the flood of new accounts that are made here every day then the average is closer to 1 than 100. Regardless, you're still #2. But to show you that its value isn't absolute about anything, Satoshi is #5 and Hal Finney is #18!

Crypto is officially dead.....

I told everyone when it was first conceived, government/SEC backed Security Tokens will be the nail in the coffin.... Nail, meet coffin.

This is a ploy is for the government to take control from small projects and put it into the control of Wall Street billionaires.

The SEC is damning ICO's while pushing the security token concept.

The government, when they made this 'warning' is essentially calling everyone stupid.

You do realize there's no actual HoweyCoin, right?

I wouldn't say they're "pushing" the concept. They're pretty much shitting on all ICOs.

Let's face it: most ICOs are just money grabs and deserve to be shat upon.

The government is doing is duty by performing a public service, just using a rare display of high-minded humor, which seems to be going over at least 50% of everybody's heads. That's why its fascinatingly funny to people like me.

Clearly by my statement I know it's not real. But what I also know is that this is a paid advertisement by the SEC.

Clearly you don't understand the full picture, because nobody paid anybody for this "advertisement."

They are bashing ICO's while pushing Security Tokens, essentially it's the government and Wall Street taking control over the crypto market. Exactly the opposite of the intended use for crypto.

How do you infer this as "pushing Security Tokens"?

IMO, the majority posting are not intending to invest in any coin, I'd guess these posts are just an effort to fill quotas for existing paid signature campaigns, or maybe they think they are part of some sort of howeycoin bounty that requires posting about the project

Yeah I agree with you, most of the generic shitposts here are exactly what you described. BTW, you have some interesting stats for your profile. Too late, I've judged you as a plagiarist trying to avoid detection!  Shocked

The potential for bitcoin and the blockchain to empower social and solidarity-based finance has yet to be truly tested. While the community around crypto technology is enthusiastic and experimental, it remains prone to an elitist, tech-centric outlook. An important role for social and solidarity finance practitioners is to consider how blockchain technology can evolve within today’s diverse political and cultural contexts.
Crypto can facilitate low-cost remittances for those seeking to transfer small amounts of money internationally. Or as a means for an otherwise excluded individual to have a decentralized global bank account, accessible by downloading an open source wallet from the Internet, versus having to set up an account with a financial institution. Also it can provide the basis for a richer set of financial services. However currently it is a playfield of the rich and the middle-class where poeple with stable income just make more money by crypto... it doesnt really reach those countries in real financial and social crysis. It meant to however.

The best way to look at this is in fact going back to predictions from before the bullrun in last Q4.

If you look at predictions from early 2017 and before you will find a much more realistic prediction. BTC price is for sure to go up sharply at some point. Remittance transfers are one reason. Bitcoin transfers to foreign countries have nearly doubled in the past 15 years. Political uncertainty in the U.S., the U.K. and developing nations is another factor. The growth of mobile transactions is another factor. Non-cash transactions will probably jump to 30% over the next decade. The total number of smartphone users is expected to reach 1 billion by 2020.
Based on all of these time factors experts predicted a 500K by 2030.
I think that is a much more realistic scenario. I would predict a 100K BTC in two years instead.

For example the whitepaper states up to 30% discount on airline fairs. Is that realistic? 30% is pretty much the whole profit of an airline company on each seat

That's the whole point of this scam great project, nothing is realistic just like 99 out of 100 ICOs. the point of this project is to warn people about scam ICOs, yet you are here to promote your own.

Ps, I have updated my signature @Trump.

Ahh ok I've heard months ago that there is some joke project to raise scam awareness... But to be honest I am not sure if this will reach its goal. I mean where is it stated on the website or even on this thread that its just a joke? Not sure if this is the right approach to be honest since people even have this in their signatures it can seem totally legit for newcomer investors.... Not like they could actually invest in it but still it could be pointlessly confusing.

Please dont call our project a scam. We dont use any schills we dont have any bounty campaigns either we have airdrops. We dont buy followers and we dont buy Bitcoin Talk Thread pumps either. As a result our thread is basically invisible...

Therefore it is very hard for us to spread our word and stand out from the crowd of pumped threads. We do everything we can to proove the legitimacy of our project.

We probably goona loose a lot of potential investors because of this clear approach. Please take a look at our WP before judging us.

Thank you !

Wow this cought my attention. It seems to be so promising that it will be hard for us to compete with  Cheesy

Just for reference I am involved in a project with similar aims but focusing on local merhcants. Our firm is an established tourist guide and travel advertisement agency and we do this for a while now. Not trying to advertise just wanna proove that I know what Im talking about:  https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/annpre-sale-meerkat-a-utility-token-designed-for-local-merchants-4832534

So I have read the whitepaper. To be honest it should contain much more specific information about the business model in practice. I mean it is full of promises and empty statements about how the whole tourism industry cant wait to adopt this coin. For example the whitepaper states up to 30% discount on airline fairs. Is that realistic? 30% is pretty much the whole profit of an airline company on each seat. I mean I would be the happiest person on earth if I could fly around for 30% less only beacuse I paid with crypto. But why this would worth it for the airliner? Business is business guys airliners are one of the most profit-oriented businesses. Sorry but 30% seems totally unrealistic. I suggest to reduce these promises as I dont think real investors will believe it.

To to be fair guys I have a very different experience with this industry. Potential acceptance points (for any coin really) have to be directly incentivized for accepting crypto. If the whole industry is ready to give such huge discounts for us then what will be their return on this? Potential price gains if they hold enough Howey ? Maybe. But if any industry would believe huge gain potential for crypto, then I think they would just accept Bitcoin. And they would have much more customers by accepting the most popular crypto.

I mean seriously guys I am tryign to help here. We negotiate with potential acceptance points every day and we dont experience this "I cant wait to accept your awesome crypto" mentality at all. In fact it is the way around. They dont believe in price gains actually they are very afraid of price losses. Volatility is a major issue we are traying to address with our project and still we get refused 7 out of 10 times by merchants.

I think we can work on this and I support every legit project but when a coin is saying its gonna easily adopt and dominate a whole industry that might be a two edged sword. It think sometimes it is better to say and promise less then what is expected.

in my opinion this project is very interesting for investors, because there are so many advantages of howeycoin projects. one of which is where investors can, at will, buy or sell without limitation, so that investors will be free to buy and sell their products. and the other advantages are supported by the government. i think this project will be success
and then people say that they have been scammed!!

So I got some strong points to invest in your ICO.
1.GUARANTEED RETURNS.
2.CELEBRITY ENDORSEMENTS.
3. “SEC-COMPLIANT” (guarantees that coins will trade on an SEC-compliant exchange where you can buy and sell them for profit)
4. INVESTING WITH A CREDIT CARD.
5. PUMP AND DUMP.( guaranteed gains with pumps and dumps during pre ico to crowd sale)
6.Team members without any social profile.
7. Whitepaper is very well written with so many grammatical mistakes.

Reserve some tokens for me!

BTW, you have some interesting stats for your profile. I came up with a simple formula to help me decide the likely worthiness of somebody's posts, and out of 30+ forum members I generated it for, your profile is #2, second only to Theymos.

Interesting. The "simple formula" part makes me a little nervous, but I guess since the results appear accurate to me (without really knowing anything about who is being compared, the formula, or how the stats are derived)... it must still be right! Cheesy Grin

I do at least have to ask how you are getting your stats?  and will you reveal the formula?? PM works if you do not want to hand this information to the bad posters!  Wink

As for HoweyCoin, I've gotten really good information that Howeycoin was created by the Howey Company - lots of strong support on this coin! To the moon! Tongue
