Thanks for your question, assasin21rus! As we mention in our Whitepaper, traditional energy costs for blockchain mining are a significant setback. The amount of energy it takes to power a blockchain mining network is staggering and has a huge environmental impact. The Foleum project addresses both of these problems. By using green energy to run our mining data centers, we are able to lower operational costs (making it more profitable) as well as reduce the blockchain carbon footprint on the planet.
Another differentiator is that we're using a hybrid wind and solar system because research shows that such a system is much more efficient than solar alone. This is because, in much of the United States, wind speeds are low in the summer when the sun shines brightest and longest. On the other hand, wind is strong in the winter when less sunlight is available. Because the peak operating times for wind and solar systems occur at different times of the day and year, hybrid systems are more likely to produce power when you need it. If you're interested, check out the Whitepaper for more details.
