Please don't change the name... Karma coin or simply Karma is better than Karmashares or Karmastake..... That's what's not broken about this coin... So please don't try to fix that... thanks..

btw, "Karmashares" is a good name, if we were to re-name the coin. I'm not sure how people feel about "Karma Koin" being out there (I know that there were some concerns over the trademark and such).
Does it matter if we're Karmacoin or Karma-something? What do people think?

A real help for the coin and an indicator of its value would be if we can bring it to Cryptsy. I just spend 100 Cryptsypoints to get 500 votes. if 20 of you do the same, the sell-walls will be split to another major exchange.
i can do a giveaway to get people to vote soon : )

it wont be long until cryptsy will accept karmacoin now. Its is hard to mine millions of this coin as of now. Much harder once the voting polls are closed and there is even a smaller number cap. You can only buy cheap if you want to be a multikarmallionare at the moment. but that will not last long. soon the order walls will crumble. one by one. those who have been patient so far will get rewarded.

About the possible change to 50 billion.
There will be no loss of confidence by the majority of users if such measure is taken because most of karmacoin users agree with such change (from pool results).
Remember that we are not (yet!) at the same level as BTC, where even if 10% of people was against an hypothetical measure of this kind its execution could backfire very badly (10% BTC users -> thousands of users!).

Pros of POS coins:
Cons:

Pros of POS coins:
- more energy efficient
- supposedly more secure network
- kinda cool right now (especially POW/POS hybrids)
- "free coins" for every holder
Cons:
- would turn KARM into an entirely different ecosystem (bye bye miners -> investors, hello club of bagholders)
- such a transformation would certainly hurt people's trust in KARMA, though that could be restored over time
- mining gives a coin a percieved value in many people's eyes (hardware/energy cost to generate x amount of coin), POS is really just created out of thin air
- "free coins" for every holder
- that promotes hoarding of coins, the exact opposite of KARMAs goal
- the rich get richer, the poor stay poor - not exactly good KARMA either

How about at 50 billion total coins it changes to PoS?
Then you get 1.5% interest for every 30 days term you keep the coins in your wallet (for the first year)
then 0.75% per month the following year, then decreasing by half after, etc
until maximum of 92 billion coins?

It would avoid the risk of 51% attacks...
