Wow, I think I actually managed to install the linux client after all. Who would have thought 
For those still struggling, I don't know whether this is actually working (linux noob here), I downloaded the tar.gz (and the tar.gz.m5, i think?), unpacked it in the directory i had the Liskinstall.sh in and followed the instructions. Seems to work ok

My lisk does not actually send , i click on "send lisk" the button goes from blue to grey and nothing happens , no transaction , is there anything i can do except waiting?

I installed a linux under VM, testnet Lisk (for training) and then mainnet lisk after binaries was uploaded.
All works fine and installation was easy.
And don't use a public nodes from untrusted users, they can steal your password. It's not difficult for those who know the JS or other similar language.
