people are selling lisk now in order to get in the btc (among the fear about the eth-gate). When the halving is done they will return to rebuy cheap their lisks. Pure logic, they take the risk to increase their capital while they drop the price of what they really want to invest in the long term. Combine this with the day traders and you know what is happening.

Effect of possible brexit (24th June referendum) on LISK (and cryptocurrencies in general).  Your thoughts?

Whales create trends, LISK and ETH are DAPP oriented - transfer crowd psychology from ETH/DAO to LISK needs only whales with big amount of LISKs and BTC.
It will last till certain amount of people realize that LISK is not affected by same DAO's flaw.

According to the individual above this post nobody lost money today in the Dao nor in Ethereum.
Thanks for your opinion.

ETH back to ATH ($15) from a few days ago.  Compare the loss to peeps investing in LISK ...everyone lost a little ;-)
I hear you but eth was at $21  US yesterday.

50 Mill Taken, Thats Huge!

Taken? More like being "held"...its not going anywhere. In fact, its going back to the investors. Read up more on reddit brodee
In that case once the hard fork is made eth will probably fail in the long run, not to mention the dump after that. Either way eth will need time to recover, if it finally does

I agree that ETH will need time to recover....but as of this post, its at $15.00 (ATH prior to this "hack") and I am fine with it at this price after a security breach.  Shows you something about ETH withstanding this and not dropping to .35cents  Cheesy

ETH wouldn't drop to .35cents US in just one day.
DAO is sinking like a rock in a lake!

Hey guys, I'm new to this thread and just read up a few pages back. Couldn't stop to wonder though, Mark is in China promoting LISK and making deals with exchanges, etc. then why LISK is dumping atm? Also with the ETH/DAO debacle shouldn't LISK be a viable alternative to jump to? I just don't get all the FUD? Could someone ELI5 with facts?

I always ask myself why people like you even come here.

Anyway, now go back to my ignore list.

i read this nice summary from Zer0Sum here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.15257382

Quote
Just like a nuclear reactor, Ethereum is as safe as the quality of it's engineers...
And this is REALLY BAD news for LISK (and other platforms bolting on smart contracts)...
Who are floating the notion that random JS web coders can whip up safe smart contracts.

http://hackingdistributed.com/2016/06/17/thoughts-on-the-dao-hack/

People don't write smart contracts on Lisk in JS. They either develop a blockchain with special transactions (e.g. to send a message), implement a back end function (e.g. to calculate a random number), or connect to/implement directly other services (e.g. to use smart contracts, oracles, storage).

Hello everyone,

It seems like I am currently in a zone of China with faster internet (I am sitting in the train), or I am just lucky. (I need a VPN to access e.g. BTT and it is usually unusable slow.)

I hope everything is fine. In times like these we need to unite and try to help each others. At this stage it is all about cryptocurrencies, blockchains and blockchain/decentralized apps. I wish the best for the Ethereum and TheDAO community.

good news Smiley

LISK is safe!
ALL IN LISK

Eth is for smart contracts, Lisk is for Blockchain Applications.
You can try to make apps on the Eth platform, but is necessary to compile too many smart contracts,
that makes Lisk a better alternative for this purpose.

1. Max isn't doing shit. Just touring conferences as a tourist. I don't know why people picture him striking business deals like some sort of Donald Trump.

2. Lisk is shit. You honestly think it's the go-to coin when smart contract technology is in doubt? Rofl.

Lisk doesn't have smart contracts... So this has nothing to do with Lisk.

Lisk should be benefiting from the recent ETH/DAO turmoil; what gives?

LOL
LISK Kindergarten seems not to understand that DAO hack is impugning viability of all smart contract coins. LISK included.
LISK holders are losing value because of DAO hack.   Shocked  Grin

so why da fuck ppl are dumping?

All smart-contract based platforms have got negative trust from investors.

Someone mentioned elsewhere, that this might mark a shism between the "traditional" PoW based "just money" cryptocurrencies and the new ones, i.e. crypto 2.0 types. There is something to it. People had 7 Years to work on PoW coins. They withheld attacks well and with being a lucrative target(it's money, after all), it probably wasn't for lack of trying.
Platforms like ETH, Lisk and so on are not only relatively new and untested, but they are also way more complicated, providing more possible lines of attacks.

This could be great for Lisk, only thing Max needs to do is point out how safe lisk is and it's a done deal.
Our rocket fuel is practically served to us.
If Max can make something out of this great gift then  I can see Lisk finally going to places.

You're an idiot.

How would Lisk prevent against sloppily written code in a contract? Please tell me. Let alone the risk of systems running on sidechains over which Lisk has virtually no control security-wise.

People are swarming to BTC and XMR at the moment. Lisk is rightfully being ignored, because it's shit. There are maybe 1-2 ICO people left in here, because this was a pump & dump scheme from the start.

Warned you all plenty of times, but oh noes FUD.

please, I know you're upset over the demise of TheDao and possibly Eth, but spare me with the name calling.
Try to keep your cool.
