What is the advantage of using your popol compared to an own p2pool node? Sorry if this sounds stupid - my first day looking at p2pool...
I originally put the site up so that people who did not want or did not know how to setup p2pool could get a feel for it and how it worked.
In all honesty there are more disadvantages than good with p2pool.org in terms of mining.
Number one is the fee, I only charge 2% but you could easily run your own and pay 0.
Number two is ping depending on your location.
Number three is the fact that p2pool.org can be attacked by denial of service.
And it has, several times, haha.
In essence p2pool.org defeats the actual purpose of p2pool in the sense that I am centralizing one particular node.
When every miner should be running their own node.
If you are new and want to get a feel of different pools with out going through the hassle of setting it up first then you would get on and try it.
I do all of this as a hobby, a very expensive hobby, but fun none the less.
And I enjoy helping people out and coming across a hurdle every now and then.
Usually I earn 0.01 btc everyday at 180 gh/s ?? Is it happened sometimes that they do have problem with the server ?
