When coins are staked, that is basically saying you have mined a PoS block, which behaves similarly as if you mined a block with. You have to wait 1200 confirmations (approximately 10 hours) for those coins to become spendable again. To disable staking, you can use staking=0 in your MastiffCoin.conf file or run with -staking=0 on your commandline.

We may eventually lower the maturity time for PoS blocks in a future wallet update after PoW mining ends. The initial 1200 confirmations for mined blocks was set to increase stability in the network and in the price of the coin over the initial days of mining.

Thanks to armaan56 for his interest, and well-researched article about MastiffCoin! It has been posted on CoinChomp, a popular Bitcoin blog: http://coinchomp.com/2014/05/28/interview-with-mastercoin-developers/

We're at a very exciting point in MastiffCoin's history, with just under 17900 blocks mined to date. That means we have ~7100 blocks remaining until the end of PoW, and less than 4300 blocks remaining before 2x SuperBlocks begin! There are less than 3 days of mining on MastiffCoin left!

Hey, as this coin is my first PoS coin, could someone clue me in as to how you make sure you trigger your PoS? Is it just automatic when your coins are in your wallet?
Yes, works automatic. Just have the coins in your wallet and wallet unlocked (or not encrypted at all) and it should stake.
The question I have is: I see my coins under "Stake:" and just a few under "Spendable:". How do I tell them not to stake when I want to spend them?

@kryptographer
So sad the guy at http://omargpools.ca/ has run away with all the coins. I never got a response about the coins I mined and the pool is offline. I have recommended this to a few coin developers in the past and I still think it's good advice. Don't list any pools that don't have a reputation or that you don't feel you can trust. This really screwed me over as a mining supporter of this coin.

Whats Dev background?

I'm also interested in this:

1. Have you worked with cryptocurrencies before? If so, which projects?
2. Would you consider yourself a professional programmer?
3. Can we see any of your other work?

Since you're not ready to provide information about your plans with the coin, can you give us answers to the above? It will help people make a more informed decision.

Thanks!
