No risk, no fun!
It takes a lot of courage to be the first, to be a pioneer in something new.
Even if it's not space exploration, and we all can only imagine how much courage first austronauts had.

We are waiting for the first fearless explorer of Moonlite.

Can you please explain the usage of moonlite?

How can I get moonlite?
Just ask if you need it for testing. Accounts, created in 2016, will get 1000 ML, other accounts - 25000 ML.
Note: later your test ML can be converted to real ML as a reward for testing, if other users agree.
After a test period, if MOON users agree with it, moonlite will be distributed (free of charge) amongst Mooncoin users (at a rate 1000 Mooncoins = 1 moonlite), that will be an initial distribution. After that all control on moonlite will be decentralized.

Looks very interesting. Say, I own some Mooncoins and I want moonlite for testing. My wallet was created this same year, so I think I will get around 1000ML. Once I get them, I will test this nifty feature and share with you my experiences. I am happy to be a Mooncoin investor. Most the time, I buy a small stack of MOON just to grow my coins each day. At this moment, they are very cheap but if it keeps going as is, I'd bet prices will skyrocket!  Cheesy

I think the download links from the official website are dead. I saw the page with the hashes on it, along with links to the supposed files to download. It says the domain is for sale and it never starts to download anything..

Do you have an active link to a windows version wallet?

Yes, 90% of potential Mooncoin investors go the same way as you, for the last 2 years, because of outdated OP and old links to mooncoin.info which has been offline since 2014. Thank you for your question here.

how to check validity:

You can check your download from the place you mentioned with a hashcheck-tool like http://code.kliu.org/hashcheck and compare. If you get the same hashes as results, then it should be the same original Mooncoin-wallet.

or use https://md5file.com/calculator online checksums calculator

if you compile a wallet by yourself: https://github.com/mooncoin-project

how to synchronize a wallet:

Hi! My Window wallet is not sync. Is anyone help me ? Or send me CONF file ! Thanks!

I would like to add to the request here for active download links to the wallets, either on the og thread or on a new one please?

Thank you

I just spent 5 min looking for a windows version wallet on google and I'm still without one. It shouldn't take any effort to find and dl a wallet.

You are right and at the same time you are not completely right. Yes, OP is outdated.
But if you know the official website of Mooncoin, you will not need a lot of time if you want to download an original wallet.
To find out which website is official, you need only to look at signatures of the most active Mooncoin members or to google a word "Mooncoin".
Another problem is that while devs control everything, they are able to implement whatever they want into a wallet's file which you want to google or download, be it malware, a fork with which people don't agree, or anything.
To prevent any centralization, Mooncoin's development is completely decentralized, that's why we use checksums to define which wallet is original one, and the most active members of Mooncoin community with their posts verify which checksums are correct and which wallet is official at the moment.

I think the download links from the official website are dead. I saw the page with the hashes on it, along with links to the supposed files to download. It says the domain is for sale and it never starts to download anything..

Ok , maybe it 's too early , and it's just an idea .  I think that decentralization can be guaranteed through decentralized platforms that manage "smart Contract"

Maybe you will find these two articles interesting:

Why Many Smart Contract Use Cases Are Simply Impossible
http://www.coindesk.com/three-smart-contract-misconceptions

http://www.coindesk.com/turing-complete-smart-contracts
Who needs turing complete smart contracts? The answer, says Counterparty community director ChrisDeRose, may very well turn out to be "No one".

why not also create a new currency MoonLite tied to Mooncoin with fixed exchange 1ML = 1000 moon as an option or warrant?

That's quite impossible to organize (if you mean how call options or warrants work) and besides there would be many legal issues. If you just create a new coin with swap 1:1000, again how to organize a swap, who will control the process and how about decentralization? What if miners don't agree and will continue mining MOON on its main blockchain? What if holders (or some of them) don't want to swap 1000 mooncoins for 1 ML? Or exchanges may not agree with it. And investors don't like coins with swaps.

Now Mooncoin is time-tested and has never changed its rules, that's great. And in fact it's not possible to change its rules until all users agree, but we have so many users and some of them haven't visited this thread since 2014.

Moonlite is not a currency, it's a platform, based on Mooncoin blockchain.
Mooncoin holders (who actually will hold Mooncoin at the moment when a test period is finished, the date will be discussed and announced months before, of course) will get moonlite (1ML=1000 Mooncoins) free of charge. Holders will not exchange or lose their Mooncoins, they get moonlite as a bonus.
But after that moonlite becomes a very rare asset, with no real inflation, nor dumping from miners. And you can do a lot of interesting stuff with moonlite, it's more flexible than any coin, but at the same time it has the most important advantages of crypto: you can send it to your Mooncoin address and to keep it there, and later send from your address only if you have an access to your Mooncoin wallet, so it's protected and decentralized as a classic crypto.

At the same time you can transfer it partially to your website, or to your Bitcointalk account, to use on a daily basis without Mooncoin wallet. Just like people use online web wallets, blockchain.info, etc. if they don't want to synchronize a wallet. But a great advantage of moonlite is that you don't depend on online web wallets admins!

Edit: also what do you think of idea of sending a very small quantity of moonlite to every Bitcointalk's account to involve all Bitcointalk users during an initial distribution of Moonlite bonuses?

Can you create a new Mooncointhread, because few pages later, no one knows, what u did here, because you never can change the OP here.

Thank you.
Yes, an original post is outdated, and we really need to fix it, but we cannot change it as an original dev has been unavailable since 2014. We even don't know if he is OK, as he had reported health problems in 2014.

We need to create a new thread with up-to-date info, but we are not devs, just investors, like you, and if you share our philosophy of decentralization you understand that even devs shouldn't create a new thread with no permission from the community.

So, first of all, Mooncoin users must approve a creation of new thread and its title.
Do you agree with the title? :
[ANN][MOON] Mooncoin: You know where it's headed! a folk coin since 2013, now powered by Moonlite (SMART LIKES technology)
