As far as I understand, EOS holders do not need to register their tokens for the airdrop, it is enough only to have. But I don't understand what do you mean about ETH.

About an year ago the team launched contracts on the ether platform, in May - on the neo platform. Now it is the turn of EOS and to my mind this is the right partnership.
