You only need to put them in your wallet and unlock it for staking. However, the min stake age is 30 days, so you will get any staking after your coins mature (without moving them) in your wallet for this time. So, be patient and you will get the stake.

Minimal Difficulity for today was 13077, maximum was 37204 so.....
