Thanks to a change in luck, NFD649Pool's three tickets came close to breaking even: nine dollars' worth of tickets scored eight dollars' worth of prizes. So I couldn't resist kicking in the extra buck: the Pool now has three new tickets for Wednesday's draw, same as for Saturday's.

As per the rules, I redeemed the free play and the $5 cash prize - plus the extra loonie - for new tickets for the draw on Wednesday, December 17th.

Despite last Saturday's rebound, it is probable that the NFD649Pool will go bust after Wednesday. My calculator shows only a 38.9% chance of the pool winning anything at all on the next draw. There's a 61.1% chance that its winnings will be zero.

In accordance with the original terms, the buyback order for the entire Asset at 1'855 NFD for each unit is still live. You can check this for yourself by:downloading the NFD Wallet; firing it up, waiting for the NFD blockchain to be downloaded or synched; clicking "Asset Exchange" from the left menu; looking at the NFD649Pool orderbook. You'll see it there.

Well...despite my high hopes, NFD649Pool's eighteen tickets came in below the theoretical expected value for them. In the meantime, a convicted sex offender scored 3 million bucks from a Florida lottery. O, Lady Luck...

I just came back from the same retailer and my number-checking last night (ET) proved to be accurate: three free plays, nothing more. NFD649Pool may be a shadow of its former self, but it's still ticking along for Saturday's draw.

For NFD, pos is called "forging." You need to download the NFD client, get it up and running, get some NFD from Bter, withdraw your NFD to your wallet, wait for 1,440 confirmations after your withdrawal, and then you can pos through forging. In my experience, 5 million NFD - 0.1 BTC's worth at the ask - is enough to get you some blocks. Right now, 1,440 confirmations takes about a day and a half.

There's even a special Asset called NSC, "Network Security Coin," which rewards forgers. It's given away by the tech lead MaWo once every week to forgers who forge blocks. The NFD bounty account has a buywall for it. So, you can forge, get NSC for the blocks you forge, and sell them into the bounty account buywall. That's how pos works in NFD.

If you're interested: click "Asset Exchange" in your NFD wallet, look for the "Add Asset" button in the top right area, click it, and clipboard this number into the form: 8537833860395844488 You'll see the orderbook appear, which includes the bounty-account buywall.
