OK, so I just wanted to say to the dev's that it is a great call to decrease the supply of Dnotes, even it if means that in the short run there will be little incentive to mine it. I will be watching the price shifts of Dnotes quite closely, not just because I'm a large stake holder, but because I'm hoping to apply real world economic models to the crypto world and see how they fit. You see, crypto makes easily observable and repeatable test conditions. I may even include some observed results from the crypto world in my next essays.
Regardless, my knowledge of how to create anything of Note to this community is rather limited, other than the most limited exposure to Java and C++ from university several years ago, I find my ability to contribute inadequate. I am fully aware that I can go to work on facebook, twitter and other social mediums to raise awareness and so forth, but I feel that I want to (and there may be others out there with similar desires) make contributions that are more tangible - programs, apps and the like. I really like Dnotes and have mined it since I found out about it a few days after its release.
Does anybody have any recommendations on skills / languages / abilities that would seriously benefit both my learning curiosity, and the Dnotes project?
Hello TeeGee!!
We are delighted to hear from you again. I am beginning to get the feeling that DNotes is probably the best kept secret in the crypto currency space. It is quite apparent that many of our large stake holders have been following us closely, perhaps slowly adding to their stash, with limited participation in our forum. Despite that we are most appreciative of your support and confidence in what we are doing. We are especially pleased to learn that you agreed that “it is a great call to decrease the supply of DNotes, even it means that in the short run there will be little incentive to mine it.” I believe that is especially true with multi pools and miners who just mine and dump. Those of you who have been mining DNotes for the long haul can expect significant appreciation of DNotes’ value over the next couple of months.
DNotes is managed as a real world business with a solid business plan. We are proactive in identifying challenging issues and problems confronting our industry, exploiting opportunities with our strengths when we can, and minimizing our weaknesses when we must. We positioned DNotes to approach the treacherous landscape of the crypto currency world with very deliberate strategic moves. We constantly set quantifiable goals and continuously adjust our strategies and tactics to achieve those goals. Depending on one’s prospective, DNotes is perceived either as a sleeping giant with formidable power or as an old elephant that is too dull and slow to navigate in the chaotic crypto world traveling at lightening speed. Of course, only time will tell. We started out with a commitment to be among the top 100 based on market cap irrespective of how many we are competing with in our space. Our next target is to be one of the top 50s within the next 90 days. It will only count, if it is sustainable, a key word we use to measure our own performances.
TeeGee, we love your interest to apply real world economics models to the cryptoworld. Personally I am convinced that the principles and rules are the same. What differ are the scale and speed coupled with the lack of law and order leading to a chaotic state with much confusion. Would you consider starting a new thread at Cryptomoms’ forum sharing some of your essays and findings? We are committed to building quality contents and make Cryptomoms.com the preferred site for anyone interested to start their journey in the world of digital currency. Many of us will be anxious to support your efforts.
Yeah, I'll definitely do that, I'd need to have good controls in place and study the market each day, watch for whale buy walls and other externalities that could affect the conclusions. The cool thing about this coin in particular is I suspect there aren't really any whales (certainly hope not). If there are, they are mighty cheeky and have slowly amassed a large number of Dnotes, but I feel the shared stake concept may have worked, giving a more equal distribution than otherwise. I've mined since Dnotes began, and have purchased around about as much as I have mined with bitcoin, but this still equates a rather minuscule percentage of the total supply. If people choose to hold onto their Notes, then it would certainly affect the price at the exchanges, so to some degree it makes sense that nobody dumps their coins (prisoners dilemma) since nobody will benefit. Anybody who plans on a long term hold could potentially do quite well if the developers plans come to appropriate fruition. In time online stores will accept Dnotes, to encourage it to be used as a currency. I would do it first, but I live in New Zealand, so postage would be... bothersome / expensive unless I can think of NZ products that differ from those in the US and UK or find a means of dropshipping.
Dnotes is the best kept secret coin, while I haven't been posting, I have read for new posts almost every day. It would be good to get some more activity on here, perhaps, that can be my first contribution to the community. New Zealand got its first online Bitcoin store recently, apparently it is doing quite well too. Crypto is the future, Dnotes looked promising from the beginning, I like how professional the vision sounds and the clearly capable developers. That said though, how else can we help to develop the coin? I'm eager to hear more about the new phase of development, but all in your own time. Let us know of the other ways to contribute through the second phase.
