This one actually come out yesterday, Right-Wing Reps Seek Bitcoin Powers in European Parliament, but the first time I'm seeing it. Hopefully this ends in a positive result for digital currency. We will always face opposition and people trying to control it, but in the end I still feel we will prevail for the benefit of humanity. Government is meant to help people, not to restrict them.

Three European Parliament representatives from a French right-wing political party filed a motion last month seeking to give member-states the power to regulate or even ban bitcoin activities.

The motion was filed on 25th November, according to a copy of the motion published on the European Parliament website.

The motion seeks approval from the European Commission – the executive arm of the European Union – to “allow Member States to exercise stricter controls over all virtual currency exchange transactions and even to prohibit them”.

Cited as justification is the recent decision by the European Court of Justice to exempt bitcoin trades from value-added tax, as well as moves by the Russian government to put restrictions on activities involving so-called money surrogates, including bitcoin.

The filing further states that such action is needed given “a high level of risk in the bitcoin system”, while also alleging that digital currencies possess “certain similarities with a Ponzi scheme”.

The motion’s three authors – Dominique Bilde, Sophie Montel and Florian Philippot – are all members of France’s Front National. Bilde, Montel and Philippot did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

These are awesome articles!

Op-Ed Tired Tropes and Tracking Dope: Catch the Crypto Criminals and Leave the Rest of Us Alone

Great story, catchy title, and hands down the best picture I've ever seen attached to an article like this.

Bitcoin Goes From World’s Worst Currency to World’s Best Technology in One Year

"Notice how Dimon used the term “currency” not money. He cannot call dollars “money” because, by definition, money is a store of value. U.S. Dollars, or any fiat currency, lose several percent per annum due to inflation, and have lost 97% of their actual value over the last century, so fiat currency doesn’t not qualify as money."

I am not a fan of Jamie Dimon and I've reserved a front row seat for the day he has to eat his words!

Great article, Evander

They really think that information is worth $199?

Coin Desk's "Banks and the Blockchain Report"  -  $199.00

http://www.coindesk.com/research/banks-blockchain-report/

I'd be interested, just not at that price.

I highly doubt if they have meaningful information we don't already know. A lot of bankers are quite ignorant on the subject of Bitcoin, Blockchain and other digital currencies like DNotes. Many so called blockchain projects are using blockchain not much more than just some form of glorified database. Bankers are running scared and reacting with a lot of confusion and push-back to slow down the massive disruption in the heels of multiple challenges confronting banks and financial services, including the explosive growth of FinTech (Financial Technologies).

We have to be very clear-minded that no matter how they spin it, they are not introducing any radical changes to the inherent fault of centralized fiat currencies. The corrupt nature of the political and economic systems will not go away, no matter how much financial grief the citizens have to bear. Fiat currencies will be around for a long time. We strongly believe, and are passionately dedicated, to offer DNotes as a choice; a supplement, to global currencies. We are mindful that this is a huge undertaking and will take many well executed steps to get there.

I missed posting on this forum, but must focus working my book for another two to three weeks to have the project pretty well framed. It has been very demanding, but I am even more convinced that it will be a great help to many small business owners. I can not be happier to introduce a purposeful DNotes along with a helpful book that can positively impact the financial struggle, many have endured, especially in the recent years.

Great artwork and an excellent idea. Also for those who wanted to sign up for the CRISP For Kids savings plan but have not done so, this a great time to do it. Santa has been sighted to be packaging gifts of DNotes and special prizes to be given away to children on the list on Christmas Eve, Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015. Don't miss it.      I seen Santa too! He was in a very jolly mood, and I am sure all the DNotes kids will be happy this year!

Thanks I really enjoyed contributing to this one, hopefully this helps provide some ideas for countering the narrative that cryptocurrency is for terrorists and criminals.

I've always considered Investopedia as a little bit 'old school'.  They have however, started covering more bitcoin related topics, and while some of them lean toward favoring the status quo, at least it is a start.  I still don't agree with New York as being bitcoin-friendly, regardless of their reasoning.
