Hi community members, we've taken into account some of your feedback and have recently redesigned our Resources page to make it easier for you to access relevant links from our project. Smiley

Link: https://www.oax.org/resources/

Thoughts and feedback are welcome!

That is nice effort to put all relevant stuff on a page so it would make it easy for people to browse it with comfort and let know about the achieved milestones. But I missing the link to the roadmap to let know when the big release will happen.

In Part 1 of our two-part series about a utopian vision of crypto, we discussed potential utopian and dystopian visions of a future with blockchain.
Here in Part 2 of the writeup, we take a look at the major challenges faced in realizing the technology to its fullest potential, and of course, proposed changes that could help grow the ecosystem and bring the vision to life.

For this month, we continued focusing on gathering feedback on our L2X protocol, a technology poised to deconstruct the dichotomy of CEXs and DEXs by imbuing the latter with virtues of the former.  We also published numerous articles, including one featured on Asia Token Fund’s website.

Don’t miss out. To know more, read it all in our monthly update: bit.ly/OAXOctCommunityUpdates

In its short life, blockchain technology has been touted as the representation of decentralization, freedom and the gateway to a cashless society.

Here we take a look at what might be required for this potential utopian vision to take off...

This week, we were happy to support the Fintech Association of Hong Kong’s event: FTAHK Presents: Token Economy - Institutionalization of Cryptocurrency in HK.

Winnie Mak, Executive Director (Corporate Finance) of OAX, was part of the panel discussion focused on Token Economy post sale matters - other panelists included representatives from KPMG, BC Group, Consensys and MaGESpire. A good sharing session and we always enjoy opportunities to engage the community and network with like-minded professionals in the industry!

Hot on the heels of our L2X launch last month, we held an AMA earlier this month. While we addressed many important questions the community had in mind, we're hoping to continue discussing ongoing themes that cropped up. Don't miss our deep dives!

I see OAX has redesigned its webpage.

The pages has become more "naked", if this is the right word to describe it. Just a couple of articles, and links.
And still there are no links or pictures of a roadmap.

Hi there,
Yes we have recently revamped our website, and we welcome all feedback. Smiley
We will look into improving our site based on collective feedback, please stay tuned as well.

Centralized exchanges have long maintained dominance over the ecosystem. In our latest writeup featured on Asia Token Fund, our General Manager, Amanda Liu, explains why this is currently the case by delving into the shortcomings that have plagued decentralized exchanges and the extent to which traders have sacrificed security for convenience.

More importantly, we describe in detail a solution we developed that levels the playing field between the two exchanges – our Layer 2 Exchange Protocol. With it, we hope to advance DEXes to be where they belong, at the heart of the industry rather than a niche service.

Thomas Cook’s recent bankruptcy sent shockwaves throughout the world, and resulted in over 100,000 customers being left high and dry. It also was a classic case of counterparty risk.

In this writeup, we explain how traditional institutions have attempted to mitigate counterparty risk, and detail how blockchain-based solutions as of current can ameliorate the shortcomings of the traditional landscape.

More importantly, we also introduce our own decentralized model, and how it improves upon existing blockchain-based solutions to transform traditional institutions and mitigate counterparty risk.

Trust is supposed to be a vital and integral part of society and economies, but should the future of our financial system be ‘trustless’? Find out how our L2X protocol helps realize this potential.

We are excited to be participating in one of Fintech Association of HK's upcoming events on the 22nd of October: FTAHK Presents: Token Economy - Institutionalization of Cryptocurrency in Hong Kong.
Winnie Mak, our Executive Director (Corporate Finance) will be joining as a panelist on the topic: Token Economy Post Sale Matters.

If you'd like to attend the event, you can get your tickets and RSVP here: http://bit.ly/FtahkEvent

Well, a page design change - do not add functionality or any new features.
The token is very old and I haven’t noticed any big progress this year. Everything is very quiet, but I want it to be noisy!

I was looking for a roadmap. It is not longer on https://www.oax.org/. I remember it was promised, that in 2Q2019 DEX will be released. Now its is already third quarter and I don't know what the project is planning or doing right now

Hi, this is not true in any way.

We have recently announced the release of our Layer 2 Exchange (L2X) solution and have also released the open source code. Please view: https://medium.com/@OAX_Foundation/oax-foundation-releases-new-exchange-protocol-a7a2b8e0a4b7

The proposition of OAX has always been to build the next generation of decentralized exchanges based on speed, scalability, interoperability, and trust.

L2X's initial release is a key milestone for us in our commitment to build a DEX that addresses the challenges that decentralized exchanges face. Our next steps for the protocol will be heavily dependent on operator requirements and the ongoing feedback and testing from our open source code. The immediate future will be ensuring that we address these conversations.

As a part of our community, we understand all the interest in getting a roadmap now that L2X is launched. We're not yet at the point where we can share something in detail, but rest assured we do have some exciting ideas, and hope to share it with everyone once it's confirmed. Please stay tune to our updates!

Hi community members,

As you all know, we hosted our AMA session last week and we would once again like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who took part in the session!

Just to recap, we’ve received 110 questions in total, and we absolutely enjoyed answering each and every one of your questions. Smiley Quite a number of questions were related to our Layer 2 Exchange (L2X) protocol announcement, of which we have released the source code on our GitHub here: https://github.com/OAXFoundation/l2x-trustless-exchange.

Many of you were asking if we would host more AMA sessions in the future, and the answer is a definite YES! Our utmost priority has always been to be transparent with all our supporters and community members, and we believe sessions like these will allow us to clarify many of your questions you may have regarding our progress.

However, we would usually host AMA sessions after notable development-related announcements or significant milestones, so please be patient and stay tuned. We’d like to reiterate that all questions relating to OAX Foundation and the work that we do are welcome anytime at all - we are always open to questions, suggestions and feedback, so do join our community chatgroups and participate in our discussions!

Hacking. You hear it time and time again, painting digital assets as risky and insecure. Since the beginning of this year, a total of $4.26 billion has been hacked from cryptocurrency exchanges, investors and users – a sum that’s hard to ignore!

In our latest writeup, we examine the effects these hacks have on public confidence, how centralized exchanges have been managing this threat and most importantly, potential solutions to this ongoing problem.

Read it here at: bit.ly/TrustlessThwartHackers

We don’t believe in ‘never’ when it comes to hacking – but OAX’s trustless L2X protocol removes a fundamental vulnerability and renders our model inherently safer.
What are your thoughts? Questions / feedback are absolutely welcome.

Many of you have asked us about our progress with building new partnerships and while we are working hard to form these connections, there are multiple factors our Business Development team has to consider.

In our latest writeup, we’d like to shed some light into our journey and processes in finding the right partners, including the challenges involved. In a nutshell, our strategy is to work with partners across the spectrum – working towards a mutually beneficial partnership that helps both parties and the ecosystem grow.
