What a poor OAX token!
When BTC and other altcoin rise, it drops
When BTC and other altcoin drop, it drops hard.
The ranking of market cap has fallen to 505.
3 months ago it was about 300.
Don't shift the responsibility to the bear crypto market. The current price of BTC and ETH was ever higher than the time of OAX token sale, but OAX dropped over 70% against them.
Frankly, if the OAX price keeps dropping, what is the point of releasing the so-called good news by the Team? To give a false hope again and again to the small investors?
Those who participated in the air drop had lost 35% since mid July.
BTC rises 20% during the same period.
I think many small investors have started to question about this project as well as the Team.
The Team said that there was a good progress of the project.
The Team said that they had conducted a lot of roadshows and met many famous persons in crypto market.
The Team said that OAX had gained more recogition by the market.
The Team even said that the project can bring revolutionary change to crypto world.
But what can see is the price dropping continuously after the roadshow and the meeting with those so called famous people, and the selling pressure is even heavier after the launch of prototype. Is there any hidden news that the Team did not release to us? Or you want to say that all the market participants are blind so they keep on selling OAX ?
The Team indeed owes us an explanation of the low token price, and why everytime the token price was reacting negatively to the "good news" they released.

I would like to hope that the price of the token will grow with the growth of the market. But not sure. New 5 million tokens from bounty hunters can significantly reduce the price of the token.yes, i hope the bounty distribution will be during many months

Talking Off Chain in Berlin

A couple of weeks back we were lucky enough to attend a blockchain workshop in Berlin organised by Binary District, a collaborative technology community. They organise events where community members come together to discuss the latest trends in new technologies and disruptive innovation.
We were there on behalf of OAX Foundation and able to represent their project in the conversations that took place. As you know, Enuma Technologies is the main developer on the OAX project and is helping apply blockchain technology in OAX’s decentralized exchange platform.
The event we went to focused on some of the latest ideas for a scaling solution for digital assets and was organized by Dr Patrick McCorry. He’s part of the team behind Sprites, the state channel technology that has the potential to bring industry-leading speed, high transaction volume and low cost to digital asset trading on the OAX platform.
One of the main topics debated during the workshop was how to reduce on-chain interactions by, for instance, avoiding the on-chain creation of a state channel application contract unless it’s required for a dispute. Another area of focus was routing for payment channels, and we saw two examples of routing algorithms specifically designed for payment channel networks.
On the practical side, we learnt a lot hearing about the experiences different development teams have been having with Lightning implementations, as well as updates from the Raiden development team. We also saw what is arguably the first production implementation of generic state channels from FunFair, a blockchain-focused gaming technology company.
In the off-chain ecosystem there are a number of research groups pursuing similar directions and it was great to finally have most of the groups gathered in one place to collaborate and exchange ideas. Hopefully this will also serve as a stepping stone towards standardizing some of the concepts that are important in the off-chain world. The workshop brought together the most prominent researchers and engineers working on state channels, and we were proud to be participating on behalf of OAX Foundation.
One of the best aspects of the two-day workshop was finally meeting Patrick alongside Surya Bakshi, a co-author of the PISA research that addresses the offline problem with state channels. Having been so focused recently on applying Sprites to the OAX project, it was great to finally meet them in person.

OAX DEVELOPMENT PROTOTYPE FAQ

Q: Is there plan to make a mobile version?
A: It is being considered as part of our roadmap. Our main focus now is on building our OAX DEX Platform, by combining improved technological developments (eg. Sprites) with a strong governance framework (for example, including dispute resolution and KYC).
Q: Will the login to the exchange be possible only through Metamask?
A: Apart from Metamask, we are working on supporting Trezor and Ledger. We use Metamask only for our POC, but our final product will definitely offer other options for connecting your account.
Q: OAX establishes connection with the exchange with the help of the signatures SHA-1 but similar exchange uses Sha384 in the chain. What’s the difference?
A: We support a suite of ciphers to communicate between the exchange demo and the end user. SHA-1 is one of the ciphers we support, mainly for compatibility reason, which is fine for a demo. You can verify the quality of the security certificate together with the suite of ciphers used here. The servers serving the demo will use a stronger cipher if the user’s browser supports that. Users are always encouraged to upgrade to the latest version of their browser and to ensure their browser supports stronger ciphers.
Q: Will there be a possibility to choose different colour themes?
A: The source code is open, anyone can modify the colour theme for themselves.
Q: Due to the tokenization of the fiat, exchanges will become more competitive. Will OAX adopt a fiat deposit and withdrawal system?
A: Establishing fiat gateways remains a key part of the OAX ecosystem. We are progressing well on multiple options and will make an important announcement very soon. Please keep following our news.
Q: When the ETH network occupancy happens, what will help OAX deal with transactions and solution?
The Sprite payment channel will help with that, so you only have to talk to the chain when there is a dispute. Also when opening/closing the channel, a single sprites state channel will allow unlimited number of trades.
Q: Which kind of latest technology will OAX adopt?
A: OAX is using Sprites and 0x. Sprites enables on-chain scaling up the Ethereum blockchain to accommodate increasing user demands to an unlimited amount. For state channels, the speed depends on how fast the clients involved in a settlement can communicate. It should be possible to perform a trade within a second.
Q: How many transactions per second can OAX handle? Currently the POC is limited by the Ethereum blockchain tx limit.
A: For our next milestone we will be using state channels to do off chain settlements. Since these settlements can be done between peers without blockchain transactions the number of transactions the DEX can perform per second will increase with the number of clients.

That is informative article talking on off chain scaling issues and challenges. One thing is sure you have great things to learn by reading different opinions and approaches to resolve these issues of scaling of transactions. This workshop showed the importance of state channel on-chain in case of dispute and other related things.
But then again we are talking about decentralization everywhere talking about CEX, again explaining that the fact that they are bound by the local laws
