Yeah, so cool. I was sending and receiving some this week and I was really enjoying how fast the transactions were and the fees are so low. It spoiled me so much, I don't want to pay with bitcoin anymore Cheesy I mean, I love btc, but more as a store of a value, it's just not very good for frequent transactions.

Got ROKOS on my Rasp Pi up and running. Great to see you guys are capturing this market segment. I came across OKCash earlier as a mean of sending cash at low fees QUICKLY. Keep up the work dev team. I should maybe add: to the moon. ha ha

What do you mean with "[...] th discord is pretty much useless."? It's full of people with a lot of information. Ask a question and it will be answered. Hang around and you will know more about the coin and the community around it. Discord is the base of our community and exposure of OKCash. We're not the reddit kind of coin nor one of the hype coins.

Maybe Discord is just not bit1232's cup of tea. It's certainly not mine. To be honest, I wish the community enjoyed the forum post type format a bit more, but if Discord is working for most, then the community has spoken and I'll accept that.

I just installed Discord a 3rd time and want to understand it without having to constantly ask others, but I see no menus or pages in there where I can find more info, so maybe you can help to answer some questions I have, that will also benefit others here who may have the same questions.

1) Where can I find a complete list of commands I see people typing?
2) Where can they be used? Any group, or only specific ones?
3) I heard Toshi mention everyone gets a wallet in there, but I could not find a wallet address anywhere. Where is it? What can be done with it?
4) What are soaks and rains? I assume it's when people gift OKCash to others, but how does it happen? How can someone contribute on both sides? (gift and receive)
5) I don't have any urge to gamble my OKCash at the moment, but is OKBet only a Discord text gambling app? Or does it exist elsewhere?

Thanks in advance for the help...

type .help and you will see a list commands:

These are the ones important.
type .deposit to see Okcash address and Bitcoin address
type .balance to see your balance.
type .stake to see your stake balance.
type .stakeall to stake with all your coins.
type .unstakeall to move your coins back to regular wallet.
type .withdraw to move your coins out of the Discord (to exchanges for example).
there are lot more...
It is very easy to use once you get a hang of it. all btw, type !help to see help list.

What is the purpose of this coin?

It's a fair question I've tried to figure out myself, and while I cannot speak for the devs or the rest of the community, here's my take from a non-dev outsider looking in. I think you have to consider that when this coin launched, more crypto seemed to be going after being a payments related alternative, unlike today where more coins and tokens seem to be launched trying to solve a myriad of other/different problems.

I guess the better question might be, do we need so many coins that have a primary function of payments, and my opinion is the more the better and let the users decide which interface, functionality, and community they wish to embrace. The cream rises, but there can be many dominant players in a marketplace. Think cellphones, or IM messaging apps, or soft drinks, etc. Those who keep innovating usually keep rising, and that's where I think the OKCash devs and collaborators greatest strengths lie. (see ROKOS for an example) Do I wish sometimes there were more tools or apps being rolled out to utilize OKCash more/better? Absolutely. But I also understand that OKCash probably doesn't have these huge coffers to pay an army of full time developers (at least, I don't think lol), and that this seems to be a labor of love for everyone involved, and that says something...at least, it does to me. Smiley

Awesome explanation. To be honest, I don't think many people knew the answer to my question. That's sad though and that's why so many people are loosing money investing in scam coins. Adequate research is not being done.

Thanks for the kind words. Smiley Yes, I agree. I didn't have an answer when I first asked myself the same question too, which made me really think about it's purpose, utility, and future. I think the best of OKCash has yet to come.

But with so much uncertainty around Poloniex, and with the rising number of decentralized exchanges, the game is going to change.

Anyone still thinks Poloniex is on the brink of collapse? https://www.similarweb.com/website/poloniex.com?competitors=bittrex.com

I don't know what's up with them, but I am personally sidelining them for a long while. I waited 30 days for a ticket to be addressed (which meant funds were tied up that whole time) and received zero acknowledgement, zero communication during this time, and even zero communication after it had been finally completed. I understand they had scaling issues with this latest rush, and that can be forgiven, but if you're not going to communicate with your customers, to hell with them IMO.

OK
Check their twitter followers on twitteraudit.com and be prepared for a surprise. I want to like this company, but this isn't a good look.

Okcash is not a company, it is an open source decentralized cryptocurrency where everyone can take part, we work in a decentralized cell structure,
that is just 1 of the Okcash twitters out there, as anyone can create one to support the project, also twitteraudit is not reliable at all and old, you can read it on their site,
but even then that is just 1 of the many social accounts out there, On this one we have paid for advertisement in the past, and we don't block followers so is natural imho.

join https://discord.me/cryptocurrency to meet the OK community over Discord.

Welcome to the OK community.

OKCash — sleeping #1 IoT Gaming Giant!

Celebrate your Independence Day with the Number 1 IoT, Internet of Things, Coin! OKCash.

IoT is the inter-networking of devices such as electronics and software that exchange data. Gaming Communities continue to exchange a massive amount of information including financial transactions. Amidst this explosion of opportunity, OKCash has continued to exceed expectations since 2014. Over 200 thousand Twitter followers, 60 thousand followers on Facebook, and Asian E-sports Gamers already know what their team has accomplished. Now, a new dawn invites the world to wake up and join the fireworks that OKCash has planned for everyone, everywhere, everyday in 2017.

With the addition of Department of Artificial Intelligence at Charles University in Prague, the team is excited to invite you to share in it’s shining success.

Yes, a new Roadmap and website redesign are on the way! Already a part of Microsoft Azure’s BaaS ecosystem since 2016, the team is developing ROKOS system, enabling cryptocurrencies to continue running seamlessly on IoT devices. But what really excites the 40 devoted active developers for OKCash are the Five Focus Points that they are bringing to reality this year.

1) Social payment system with zero fees, instant transactions, and “OK feel”.

2) IRL tournaments for small, durable and secure IoT devices such as Geocaching.

3) Commercial gaming tournaments for a variety of mobile games, MMO plugins, such as LoL & HearthStone.

4) Connecting Online gambling, e-sports, & casino businesses.

5) Contributing to Community Causes. OKCash is partnering with Direct help & Prosperity, allowing gamers to provide help on a global scale.

So not only is the project moving ahead with aggressive financial and technical potential, they realize we are all human, all in this together, and are giving back to communities in need. What other project can say that? Who really is OKCash’s competition? GameCredits, which is also part of the Microsoft Azure Network, is maybe the closest competitor, sitting at a $200 million dollar market cap compared to OKCash’s sub $10 million dollar cap. Game was also listed below $10 million dollars before being added to Poloniex. It certainly benefited from the recent boom recently in January for all Altcoins. Poloniex currently carries 90% of the volume for Alts. However they continue to show a track record of being incapable of adapting to the professional environment required of the rising Alt Coin revolution. OK Cash is currently not listed on Poloniex, and perhaps when they are, the price might go up. But with so much uncertainty around Poloniex, and with the rising number of decentralized exchanges, the game is going to change. But the true value, capabilities, and commitment of the OK Cash Team will continue to march on.

To celebrate this inevitable success, OKCash has launched OKBets and invites you to join in on the fun and the rewards!
