What GPU are you using? I have mine set to 17 - 18 (I have a 1080 Ti), not much hashrate lost from 21. Also try adding --submit-stale, it could help (well at least in my experience). Also I think your ping to pool server matters too. They say <300ms is recommended.

If I understand it correctly it's at block 5000 when full rewards are activated. 60 coins go to miners and 60 coins go to MNs.

V1.1.0 doesn't connect to peers that use older protocol versions.
You will get more peers as people start to update their wallets.
You can always add the IP of the explorer at criptoreal.info as a node to make sure you get the most peers.
