After Monero hard forked on April 6th, there are XMR (the new Monero chain) and XMC (original chain). Monero Classic team chose to maintain the original chain and did not follow the upgrade initiated by Monero team.

We believe the emergence of specialized mining machines for a cryptocurrency is a normal market economy phenomenon and it could greatly improve network security. With specialized mining machines , the events like “Monero was attacked by more than 500,000 botnets” could be avoided. On the opposite, Monero developers' constant change of algorithm creates more centralization.

We know that some fork teams are not really planning to do any development or maintenance work for the chain. You can tell by seeing what they did after the hard fork.

We are seriously for this project and actively pushing things forward. Until now, we got a lot of supporters from the industry.

Does anyone know what is Monero Original? What is the difference from this hard-fork? There are a lot of forks from Monero XMR, are all of them are scam or community need? I heard that it is kind of war between different groups like pool controllers, GPU manufacturers, and scammers. Please, help me to understand the logic of this hype around Monero.

I'm surprised by your imagination.

There are many pools mining XMC. That could be a strong evidence of market's choice.

Coinex is directly related to Bitmain which are producing the new ASIC.
And Gate.io too is linked to China.
XMC just seems to be an option to sell the new hardware.

“ASIC will increase computing power and the ability to resist attacks. It cannot be completely repudiated. If there are even restrictions for the hardware device, then should we make rules for where the electricity come from or what kind of house should be used? The more restrictions, the more vulnerable the system is.”

FAQs:

1. Is MoneroClassic (XMC) a hard fork from Monero?
No. Monero hard forked from itself when updating from v.0.11.1.0 to version v.0.12.0.0. We are working with Monero Network version v.0.11.1.0.

2. Why are you against the hard fork?
We believe the emergence of specialized mining machines for a cryptocurrency is a normal market economy phenomenon and it could greatly improve network security. With specialized mining machines , the events like “Monero was attacked by more than 500,000 botnets” could be avoided.

3. Is MoneroClassic (XMC) pre-mined?
No.

4. Is this an ICO?
No.

5. How do I get MoneroClassic (XMC)
If you have Monero, you will already have the equivalent amount of MoneroClassic (XMC).

6. Do you have replay protection?
No. It is the responsibility of cryptocurrency that is hard forking to implement replay protection. Monero team has not announced plan to prevent replay attacks on the new fork chain, so boths chains (XMC and XMR) are at risk of replay attacks. To avoid replay attacks, users should simultaneously transfer their balances to new wallets on Monero and MoneroClassic.

7.When and where can we trade XMC?
Supported exchanges: CoinEx, Xstar, gate.io. For the time open for trade, please pay attention the notice of exchanges.

8.Is the wallet available?
The wallet will be available on LoMoStar.

What will be the advantages of Monero classic over Monero? What's the purpose to keep ASIC mining available? In order to increase the centralization?
Looks like someone ordered a batch of ASICs and want to make a new coin so as to be able to get their money back or make some easy money.

Whether or not there is any "advantage" is moot. Monero Classic is simply the result of ASIC miners continuing to mine the blockchain while everyone else moves with the hard fork. That is how forks naturally happen. Nobody can stop that, and there isn't any way to stop ASIC miners from mining. The blockchain just splits in 2, with the upgraded network, wallets, and mining software retaining the name Monero.
