I tried the tor settings in the simplest way with PIRATE blockchain.

Just started Tor Browser as normal and used this command to start PIRATE blockchain:

Quote
./komodod \
-ac_name=PIRATE \
-ac_supply=0 \
-ac_reward=25600000000 \
-ac_halving=77777 \
-ac_private=1 \
-addnode=37.9.62.186 \
-addnode=136.243.102.225 \
-daemon \
-proxy=127.0.0.1:9150   # Connect through TOR SOCKS5 proxy \
-listen   # Accept connections from outside (default: 1 if no -proxy or -connect) \
-listenonion   # Automatically create Tor hidden service (default: 1) \
-maxconnections=25 \
# -onlynet=onion  # Optional. If you only want to connect to peers via Tor network. If enabled no clearnet/internet IPv4/IPv6 addresses will connect as peers.

Tested this on MacOS. It must be exactly same on Linux as well.
For Windows, just use the single line command, and remove the comment line after "#" too.

Remove the command line parameter or change it accordingly.

I just tested PIRATE over TOR in the most simplest and easiest setup way possible. Bit more advanced users can find this help link very useful which describes setting up "bitcoind" with Tor settings:
https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/70069/how-can-i-setup-bitcoin-to-be-anonymous-with-tor

Linux admins and PIRATE miners can also help by setting up Tor PIRATE nodes, and share on this forum your .onion address and port for your PIRATE peer.
Once we have good amount of .onion based PIRATE peers we can add them to "-addnode=" list, and can have more privacy added to PIRATE.

The Tor support request has been shared with Agama Wallet developers. Let's hope we get Tor Support in Agama Wallet soon. Once done, setting up Tor for a coin or assetchain would be easier.

Hope this post helps some who wants to try running PIRATE over Tor.

current price for PIRATE is bid 0.02 KMD and ask of 0.05 KMD

so the 8000 PIRATE from the airdrop is worth 160 KMD!

congratulations to those who participated.

Where to next from here?

As PIRATE is a finished project from it's core functionalities and features point of view, what we need now is community's involvement for marketing.

What I suggest:

Please join others in #pirate channel under Komodo Platform Discord: https://komodoplatform.com/discord

Form a team who can manage marketing side of PIRATE.

SHossain and I have added 10,000 PIRATE each to a bounty pool. That means there's a pool of 20,000 PIRATE which can be used for PIRATE related tasks and bounties.

I guess more bounties can be raised as tasks are discussed and decided to work on.

So come join the other pirates in Komodo Platform Discord.  Smiley

To support dPoW a hardforking change had to be made, so if you didnt update yesterday, make sure you update!

PIRATE evolved quickly to become the most private of any blockchain, the next step is to get the word out
Hey jl777!
When you talk about update you mean the latest "komodod" and "komodo-cli" from the latest Agama 0.2.41d ? Is it correct ?
i dont think an agama that is PIRATE compatible has been released yet, but if you are not mining maybe it will work

Smiley
I just use files for PIRATE from here:
\Agama_portable_windows_0.2.41d\Agama-win32-ia32\resources\app\assets\bin\win64\

Don't use the version 0.2.41d for PIRATE.

There was hardforking change to add dPoW service. We are working on the next release of Agama with updated Komodo daemon. Please wait until you get the latest version.

Hey jl777!
When you talk about update you mean the latest "komodod" and "komodo-cli" from the latest Agama 0.2.41d ? Is it correct ?
i dont think an agama that is PIRATE compatible has been released yet, but if you are not mining maybe it will work

I just use files for PIRATE from here:

To support dPoW a hardforking change had to be made, so if you didnt update yesterday, make sure you update!

PIRATE evolved quickly to become the most private of any blockchain, the next step is to get the word out

OTC price has gone from 0.001 KMD to 0.015 in the recent days and there is very little PIRATE for sale.

With dPoW in progress the next critical item that is needed is a central exchange that will set an externally verifiable price and hopefully it can get high liquidity as converting to PIRATE obtains a lot of privacy.

Ideally, we would have a decent amount of KMD <-> PIRATE exchanges as that increases the overall anon level within KMD.

hashrate is now over 10 million diff which is already 25% of the KMD hashrate!

Dont miss out on the big blocks, halving in about 9 months. With the large amount of initial inventory, the idea is that there will be plenty of coins to absorb the short term trading with KMD

Trade off between bitcoin level security and a couple delegated guys that have the ability to send transparent tx.  Which isn't any flaw in the system as they will be the only transparent tx

Can you describe tech side of a typical notary tx, what is the amount, is it always a standard sized piece of dust, or could a notary send millions of PIRATE using t tx now with this change? Maybe some tech explanation on what exactly a notary tx is will make it easier for people to understand the change that will allow dPoW.
technically the new rule is that anybody can send transparent outputs to notary address.
if anybody has millions of PIRATE, they could send it to any notary, but this is not a likely scenario and regardless of what privacy is lost by the notary transparent tx, I dont see how it is affecting the privacy of the purely z transactions

if you want to maintain the PIRATE purity, just never send any transparent tx to notary address.

the standard notarization will have 13 0.0001 inputs and a single 0.00988 output

PIRATE being able to be dPoW protected elevates it from being a test chain, to one that can hold real value.
there is no negative aspect from the notary being able to receive transparent funds. Since all mined rewards are also transparent, there is always some new transparent outputs, it is just only allowed to go to z addresses.

So BTC level security and ultimate privacy
seems a pretty good combination

half the coins to be mined over the first halving of about 10 months
plenty of time for everybody to participate

Thanks jl777, that explanation makes sense, so 64 notary node addresses can receive t tx, and for that PIRATE gets Bitcoin level security!

I believe PIRATE now has more COINS as z-funds than any other coin, with 7 million in z-addresses

each t->z and z->z transaction increases the overall anon set
