good call, self emptied dash down to 0 it only make sense to have 1000 dash and that is like over 10 grand ? I mean its great it happened but not great for late entry... I might regret dash of course.. but I need to optimize

Pretty much a given we will be moving away from this forum. It is NOT mobile friendly at all. It will be certainly still used for 'official' announcements to the crypto world. But it isn't really suited for every day use.

I believe Slack will remain the CHAT application. People are investigating www.Discourse.org as the new forum app.

We will use Confluence for the Wiki, and Trello/Jira for tasks/tickets.

More to come.

In order to grow, Darknet needs to move forward. We can't just remain stuck in a spot and expect to grow.

I was a major Dash holder. Now I hold a lot of DNet. I made the referral to the branding company, but I am not part of that company.

Hope this name change is going to result in some new developers coming on board and pushing things forward.

Also why is this community moving off to slack more than being on here?

PIVX stands for Private Instant Verified Exchange. (Exchange can have multiple meanings)

I'm as open as it gets when it comes to opinions. But I also like to question everything.
So with Raptor, I immediately thought dinosaur or a fighter plane. Maybe it's just me?
But maybe that a good thing? Not sure. But I do get search results on both like below.

Many people HATED the new name DASH also when announced if I remember correctly.

DNET devs will work with whatever name. But Darknet had negative/illegal connotations so it had to go if we wanted wider acceptance.
There were paid marketing guys that were twiddling thumbs until we had a new name. So it was better to have one sooner than later.

I was really against PIVX at beginning. But now I think a clean slate name such as PIVX is easy to work with.
It's very easy to pronounce in any language, unique on the net, meaningful acronym, no strong image etc.

Heck, a name is sometimes only a name until the product & marketing backs it up.
An example mentioned on slack was StarBucks. It's now a synonym for "coffee"!
So yeah, please give it time to sink in. It took me over a week to start liking it!

P.S. Now that we have a name that's secured, we will involve this thread more publicly for the name/logo artworks.
It wasn't so easy with the name as any new name needed securing incase someone grabs all the domains, IDs etc.

I really like Raptor too! Or just keep the DNET for "Digital Network" or "Decentralized Network" token!

to make things simple, start out with all your dnet in one input, the in the console, use 'splitstakethreshold 3000' then, the stake/inputs will auto-combine until the input is large enough to split into (2) inputs of 3k dnet

put staking=1 in conf file , restart wallet, unlock wallet

nice cross of 400K.. due to give other a chance I forego acquisition of 100K at 800 sat (its a bargain btw and BTC run wont last this will)

PIVx name is very good and it will stick.. has "x" in it an exchange/market place will be huge not just for this coin

how do i activate staking? what is splitstakethresholdwhat should i set it at? and is this this what it should look like if i do set it " setsplitstakethreshold <250,000>

I really hate to say this but Dash is a way better name  and I detest that scam coin.

I like  Raptor - describes the coin well. Intelligent, stealthy, effective....

Are there really devs queuing up to help dnet if we change the name?

I guess if PIVx floats their boat and they will help dev the coin then that's all that matters. I feel less confident about this coin now for some reason.

I guess it leaves the name darknet free for another coin now. That is annoying too. I thought it was a great name.

I only have a handfull of masternodes so it's not a huge deal. Although if I was holding 50+ of them I would have tried harder to resist PIVx

Ripple, Ethereum, Dash, Steem, Waves etc all don't sound like crypto currency to me if I didn't know any better.
Heck, even DARKNET doesn't sound that crypto either.

One positive thing to note is that it is very rare to find a short name like PIVX that nets zero search results on Google.
So at least I think that's a very good start. PIVX is also an acronym which is very much crypto. Another plus IMHO.

Anyways, for any new name, it is normal to take a long time to sink in.
I've known it for days and is only now slowly starting to grow on me...

P.S. Media company will now be creating the name and logo design etc. Expect more updates as we receive them!

Last I heard 3 days ago was that devs were trying to track down the stake issue.
So it is being looked into as priority. While doing so, they did find other bugs also.

Edit: It is expected to be fixed this week.
