Finally started getting masternode payouts.  Smiley

I'll test the obfuscation on my next batch of payouts when I have the required 500 DNET to do so.

Massive thanks to the devs and community members getting us over this bump in the road.

jakiman is back!
Guys any help with starting the wallet? I'm on Windows, I tried both 32 and 64 bit, it loads the splash screen...says loading wallet...then nothing. Nothing in processes either.

Is your account an adminitrator?

Also, I like to keep my blockchain folder within the subfolder of the Qt wallet's folder.
So I create a subfolder (e.g. blockchain) and add the -datadir option to it as below.
C:\Coins\Darknet\darknet-qt.exe -datadir=C:\Coins\Darknet\blockchain

I also see a lot of people who are still running the old wallets/masternodes, might want to update soon..

Any tips for restarting current masternodes with the latest version so that one doesn't need to restart them
from the controller. With things being stable with my masternodes I'd rather wait for the next mandatory
update or significant drop in reward than have my masternodes wait for a 1-2 days for the next payments.

need more people to turn on Obfuscation please. 500 Dnet/ 2 Rounds for now. Will be working up the amounts and rounds as we go.. Smiley Thanks

Hi s3v3nh4cks; sorry, how can I obtain more information about the obfuscation feature in the Darknet wallet, what is it, how and why it is used and how can be activated or allowed in the wallet? is it only for running masternodes or has it something to do with the staking wallet? Thanks in advance.

Here is a little something regarding Obfuscation. It is a way of making transactions a bit more difficult to track. It is one of the services provided by the masternodes. This is not the anon tech we are working on, but gives us a good base to build from.

So, I did a little playing around last night. I know, I know, I do have better things to be doing with the coin, but I can take a break from time to time, right?

Anyway, I used Obfuscation to mix some coins and give it a little test. I only used 2 rounds of mixing, if I was really trying to be sneaky I would have used 8. I created a new address in my wallet and sent 50 DNET to it using Obfuscation, I have 10,000 DNET for anyone who can tell me one of the other addresses in my wallet based on the transaction history of this new address. The address I created is DEZZ3RifTfpSXEbddZ64d9qccN6uxjyR2u.
To claim the 10k you must tell me how you determined the other address was indeed in my wallet, so don't just guess. Use the block explorer to see the action, http://www.presstab.pw/phpexplorer/DNET/address.php?address=DEZZ3RifTfpSXEbddZ64d9qccN6uxjyR2u.

It took me a while to mix these coins, and we had to ask some of the cats in the skype chat to turn on Obfuscation in order for it to even work. The more people use this feature the better it will work for everyone, so, go ahead and turn it on. You can go to settings->options->main and set the number of rounds to use and the amount to keep anonymized, then on the overview page of the wallet click on start Obfuscation.

This is a good example of the Obfuscation process in action. It works pretty good, but we are after something even better.

Edit: I just remembered bitcointalk doesn't like what seems to be giveaways based on posting addresses, this could be misconstrued as such, hop on slack or skype if you think you have one of my addresses.

all things looking good. had no corruptions. staking wallet working fine. controller wallet is  now receiving constant payouts with no nodes going missing. not sure if it was turning off staking on that wallet as an hour later i started receiving payments...

can we have a progress report or schedule for the truly anonymous transactions? This is the main feature that everyone is hoping is done with this coin and it will help with the community to keep an active dialog with everything going on.

Huh

Well, you clearly did not follow the instructions. In order for you to get the output you posted you had to enter zapwallettxes in the console. In order to do that the wallet had to be running, if you did the first step the wallet would not have been running. So, again, shut down the wallet....... Wait, I thought you said the wallet wouldn't start? Please, join us on slack or skype.

I only received my first masternode payment after 36 hours.
So its seems to be working, just a bit slow.

Same here... No payments for over a full day after my masternodes stabilized, and now starting to see some earnings. Looking forward to stable PoS earnings from now on - good job devs!

Yes. The network appears to be more stable now.

wallet.dat corruption issues can be easily resolved by syncing a new wallet with the v2.1.2.1 release and then using a previously backed-up wallet.dat or importing your private keys into the new wallet. Using a freshly generated master node key in the .conf also seems to improve things.

yesterday i moved a few 100k dnet i use for staking to another wallet on another pc to have better overview about the coins reserved for masternodes and the coins reserved to stake.

made a first transaction with 100k -> no problem, did another transaction with 100k -> not possible, the wallet says "Transakation zu gross" (means "transaction to large").
made a transaction with 50k -> no problem -> another transaction with 50k -> not possible, the wallet says "Transakation zu gross".

so i ended up with a lot of 10k transactions to move my coins. a few times i tried more than 10k again but allways got the "transaction to large" message.
i noticed the same effect months ago while i was moving some coins to bittrex, so i guess this is not new.

it is not realy a problem because i can move coins.
just a bit annoying moving a lot of coins with only 10k steps and i don't understand why i was able to move 50k or 100k first.

any idea?

It's due to so many small transaction balances in the wallet created by staking & masternode payments I believe.

Other PoS coins (example from top of my head, Bitstarcoin) resolved this issue by having an auto-consolidation feature. It works very well.

Without it, you end up with so much dust transactions over time due to staking over and over again of its own small payments.

I hope the devs implements that feature into the wallet as it's definitely needed for PoS coins IMHO.

makes sense
would love to know the current transaction size limit for dnet - ty

Turn on the coin control feature so on the Send page you can see and control the inputs. If you want to send 10k but that 10k is scattered over a lot of small transactions then you'll go above the maximum transaction size so you can't send it. I'm not sure what the transaction size limit for DNET is, I'm sure someone can tell you and with coin control enabled you can see how much data the transaction would need when you're selecting the inputs.

hmm i have coin control always anabled. will check the size next time ...
