What I am wondering about this project is how they are going to get around the legal issues. There is a reason that you are not allowed to share your WiFi with your neighbours and the internet providers are not going to like this. Just my two cents worth.

at least I see that the team has gained a lot of incoming funds as well as the many people who have joined. and I think this is not one stupidest scams

you are right, you do not need to buy a separate router. you download the software that install the firmware on your router, and everything will be setup just by itself
