This is not correct. On eBay, price is the sole determination factor, which has nothing to do with luck. In snapup events, there is a PIN that ensures the luck factor to be introduced into the drawing. It is a lottery after all.
How exactly works this pin system? I thought that this is lottery with Karma system build-in
You have to type in a 3 digit PIN code. "This allows the Draw to be completely user-determined, based on an external and non-manipulable event, and therefore impartial."
Random number generators are a weak point, so instead of having a computer you do not control draw a semi-random number, you pick one yourself. But then there's still a random number on the other side of course.
As for the Karma system, I suppose the more Karma you have, the more stakes your number has in the drawing.
