my guess is a few people have optimized miners ,
I notice Riecoin is up a little on decent volume.  Something new?

It's always possible, and I should be the last person to doubt it, but I haven't heard any whispers about such a thing.  There are several people who've demonstrated that they could build a RIC GPU miner, of course, although I'd hope they'd have observed the XPM frenzy and decided to go with a dev-fee model.

My guess is that what actually happened was that many RIC miners moved to XMR (and other CN coins) for a while, because they were substantially more profitable on CPU.  Now that the GPU miners are starting to emerge for CryptoNight-using-coins, we'll probably see a bit of a return to Riecoin.  It will take a while, because the technical barriers to running CryptoNote coins are high enough that they're still fairly profitable to mine, but over time, they should equalize.  If Claymore releases a faster GPU miner, we'll see an even larger return to Riecoin.

Speaking of which, I'm still sending all dev fees from the miner to Gatra, in case you're wondering what's happening with your voluntary donations and want a little bit of incentive to leave -d enabled at the default level.  Hopefully this will be the best thing for the coin.

well, unfortunately mine has just updated to show 14 weeks behind as opposed to 13... so confused...

have you tried (after backing up wallet.dat) deleting the riecoin folder inside %APPDATA%?

Riecoin and Huntercoin to rule all!
ok, I did get that right, however at this point I have not done any riecoin mining, so there is no money. I have uninstalled and reinstalled wallet several times, but still no change. I was mining Primecoin and have had no issues with that wallet. Hope this helps, because I really want to start mining.

Interesting. Trying create a .conf file with active peers

:(Well that just sucks then, because I have shut off firewall completely and it still has not synced anything, blocks of transaction history still continues to go up, but processed stays the same. Not sure what to do at this point, maybe riecoin is not for me, I have had no issues with Primecoin...

It's about time -- All merrit accepted !!!
i will echo what the developer has stated, i have a wallet on the 8.x codebase and one for study on the 9.x codebase,

both are running on windows machines

both take a little time but do synchronize up without issue

my wallet is showing an estimated 70,002 blocks, however after 3 days and several attempts, my wallet still has not tried to sync in any way. Still showing 13 weeks behind at 13,806... no change, PLEASE HELP with this. I am using win 32 downloads as that is all that will work. I have tried to start with the .86 software and progress, but that has not worked either.

are you using v0.9.1 binaries? how many active connections to the network do you have? I'll test a clean install in win32 to see if there are any problems...

win32 is slow, but it works. In less than 1 hour it processed blocks 0 to 15000 and it's still going... please check that you have no firewall issues.

Not sure, diff is still relatively lower.

A price bottom might have been reached. It's one of the very few CPU-only cryptos, with long term coin generation settings, ongoing development, and a PoW for which if ASICs are developped might see some other uses (unlike all the other hashing algos, which will only ever stay hashing algos).

Hey people
me again

i rebuild my sytem in an new case and now running the system on an ssd. So i wonder, why i get twice the sharerate than before, still same cpu, same parameters?

good evening

same RAM? RAM memory speed plays a crucial role
same OS? a 64 bit OS will perform much better than a 32 bit one
are you runing other apps or just minning?

in case of high temp some CPUs throttle themselves down in order to limit heat, so maybe your new case is better and the old one was not dissipating heat fast enough

Did we got exchange?  I wan to buy some.
thanks.

Riecoin and Huntercoin to rule all!

Save a copy of your wallet.dat file and reupload your wallet to a new one.
sorry, a little slow... can you please explain what you mean by upload to a new one... Thank You
Go to where Riecoin is downloaded and show all hidden files. Copy your wallet.dat file to a safe place (make several copies). Delete everything related to Riecoin or simply go to another computer and download the Riecoin wallet again and replace the pre-existing wallet.dat file with the one that has money inside.
