Hi Friends,
I have 2 issues that I'm hoping you can advise me on:

1.  On BTC38.com I can't ever get it to let me deposit RIC.  Every time I click 'deposit' It just says "Please deposit your RIC to this address:Loading..." and it sits like this forever.  All other coins on BTC38 return an address but RIC does not.  Any ideas what's up with that?

2. I still can't get my windows riecoin qt wallet to sync (riecoin-0.10.2-win).  It just says 'Synchronizing with network' and I'm now about 2 days behind.  I have tons of IPs I've collected over time in my riecoin.conf and as of a couple days ago, I can ping them all with a successful response (I've spot checked a few and can still ping many of them; just didn't re-do the whole list today).  I've also tried launching the wallet with -rescan and that doesn't seem to make any difference.
So why doesn't my wallet sync and what can I do to get this back on track?

Here are the IPs I have so far:
addnode=5.9.39.9
addnode=5.83.137.130:28333
addnode=5.83.137.131:28333
addnode=45.32.74.83
addnode=45.32.129.71
addnode=45.32.147.222
addnode=45.32.156.59
addnode=45.63.19.206
addnode=45.63.36.126
addnode=45.63.57.92....

I created the file riecoin.conf, wrote the following text:

server=1
daemon=1
listen=1
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=pass
addnode = 173.51.33.72
addnode = 192.95.24.114
addnode = 198.251.84.199
addnode = 218.45.179.204
addnode = 45.76.139.92
addnode = 5.9.39.9
addnode = 51.255.207.142
addnode = 79.137.74.43

And put this file here C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\Riecoin and in the folder where the blockchain will be downloaded(just in case Smiley) .Synchronization started.

RIC is currently under maintenance or experiencing wallet/network issues. Deposits and withdrawals will remain disabled until a solution is found, which may require an update from the RIC team. Any updates must be tested and audited before enabling.

RIC is not experiencing any network issues.
BTC38 works great, just tested a few moments ago.

On the other hand, Poloniex can't seem to fix anything lately. .  Roll Eyes

Poloniex is right, GUI wallet RIC is not synchronized at all, 3 days no progress, on the badge "network" red cross. What kind of network stability are you talking about here that I do not understand.

Hi mate, i had the same difficulties. it just needs a little push but when you manage to sync it, it works pretty ok.
DO NOT download the torrent link as it didn't work for me and i had to start over syncing the wallet from the beginning.

What worked for me is written in the quotes.

hi all !!

is there a link to download the blockchain data cause the wallet takes forever to sync?

i've added 10 nodes that's i found in https://chainz.cryptoid.info/ric/#!network from console but still its toooooooooo slow !!

thanks in advanced !
torrent of chainstate to block 654048
magnet:?xt=urn:btih:0B92258C8863B589769BD3099CE89F2CF587007C

thanks man !!!

although i've copied the downloaded files and now the wallet says that there is a problem with database (error opening block database) and asks if i want to rebuild it.
If i press ok it crashes with the same message (error opening block database).....

i guess i ll have to wait to sync..... Sad

4 days now and the wallet says 34 weeks behind..... anyone know why the wallet is soooo slow ?? is this normal?
Post the debug log.
You might want to restart the daemon as well

well, after like 5-6 days of restarts and plenty of the same "addnode" commands my wallet is finally synced.

Same thing here, there's no problem in our software that I'm aware of and I'm willing to help. They responded to my ticket apologizing for the delay and said they would escalate it to give it more priority.

...

FYI, and not to inject talk about other projects here, Polo told the Myriad community the same exact thing before delisting them... I would suggest finding some additional exchanges to be on the safe side.

bittrex api and system seems to be working flawlessly currently ...

a push for listing there would be a good move ...

poloniex are having MASSIVE issues still ...

I offered in my ticket to help the Poloniex folks if they needed anything, but they haven't responded --- this is a ticket I opened 61 days ago.  (!).

Polo folks, if you're reading this, please feel free to reach out.  BTC38 is working nicely, but it's always good to have two exchanges.

Same thing here, there's no problem in our software that I'm aware of and I'm willing to help. They responded to my ticket apologizing for the delay and said they would escalate it to give it more priority.
But the problem is that Poloniex grew too much too fast, so they are struggling with support. Some days ago they disabled the trollbox and put the moderators to work on support because they needed the staff on support.

I guess we'll have to wait. Meantime, https://cryptodao.com/ is online.

RIC is currently under maintenance or experiencing wallet/network issues. Deposits and withdrawals will remain disabled until a solution is found, which may require an update from the RIC team. Any updates must be tested and audited before enabling.

Can you clarify?

BTC38 works great, just tested a few moments ago.

On the other hand, Poloniex can't seem to fix anything lately. .  Roll Eyes

maybe the riecoin will act actively when poloniex solve the problem Grin

I've updated the README.md for the stratum branch -- go see if that's any happier:

https://github.com/dave-andersen/fastrie/tree/stratum/xptMiner

The build should be very straightforward now on Ubuntu.
Got it to work after restoring the libraries the manually built libgmp messed up. Thanks for pointing out that that's only needed for centos.
Any chance of seeing a mix of xptminer-gpu with this stratum version?

we build everything under centos 7 x64 / fedora 25 x64 ...

so its a major pain to get all the deps running - but its possible AND quite stable once its all built ...

still havent spent the time building the pool ... its a mess getting it all running - and time is difficult ...

dave is doing a great job at patching and rebuilding - so its a good thing that he is on the case ...

Is xptminer still useful?  I thought all the current pools were stratum.

(there's no GPU version -- the GPU stuff in xptminer was for other coins, as I understand it, and I've been trying to remove the old xpt stuff as part of simplifying the build process.)

If there are xpt pools, I can try to merge, but I don't have a lot of time right now.  If there are no xpt pools left, I'm happy to kill the xpt version entirely. Smiley

I think the only xpt server was ypool and their server code was not open source, so I'd say it's safe to kill the xpt client.

Has anyone tried to get any other exchanges to list the coin for trading? I suggest maybe Cryptopia or NovaExchange. Those exchanges seem to have a lot of coins listed, many far more obscure than RIC. I've used Cryptopia a bit and it seems fine, and have used Nova a bit less but it seemed to work well too. It seems Poloniex are never going to fix their RIC wallet, so I've sold my RIC on there and am waitingto jump back in when there exist a new exchange.

Is xptminer still useful?  I thought all the current pools were stratum.

(there's no GPU version -- the GPU stuff in xptminer was for other coins, as I understand it, and I've been trying to remove the old xpt stuff as part of simplifying the build process.)

If there are xpt pools, I can try to merge, but I don't have a lot of time right now.  If there are no xpt pools left, I'm happy to kill the xpt version entirely. Smiley
