Can someone please tell me... If I have BTC in a cold storage wallet, will I still be entitled to the same amount of SBTC? If so, how do I access them once the fork happens?

You need to ask your cold storage wallet if they'll develope a split tool, (if using Ledger/Trezor or whatever)

Also, what i did was move my coins to Gate.io (there are others who supposedly support it too) and they arleady distributed my SBTC earlier today minutes after passing the block height.

Interesting take on existing technology here. Can't wait to hear more details. Also, would you be doing some kind of bounty?

It is strongly recommended to use DPOS consensus mechanism to replace pow. Does the development team have any plans in this area?

Leading Crypto Sports Betting & Casino Platform
even with some good support of valid backers, the dev team has to have a avid push to make this valid for the long run. and a simple flip of the coin if it will live past the new year

you should definitely try and get supported from encouraging exchanges like Binance, and provide them with all the necessary data/details to enable support ASAP.   this will promote credibility and recognition as not just another shitcoin fork.

true
now is too many forks and this would give an advantage over the rest, in addition to the trust of the community

Why do developers think that contentious forks of Bitcoin are even acceptable?  Bitcoin Cash does it and suddenly there's a Bitcoin shitfork at every turn.  Bitcoin Omega Purple Donkey Blow is next, right?

Why not develop your platform independent of Bitcoin and launch it in a way that doesn't attempt to harm the ecosystem?

Hi deanerific, SBTC is here to merely implement proposals recommended by the Bitcoin Community
Implementing something that community recommends is a good point here. But the question is where the community will be using the coin or not. But I'm not sure about its price in future though.

Platform support means: If I put Bitcoin on the trading platform, can I get a free SBTC?

If I just transfer my BTC to Bitpay address, will I receive SBTC after block 498888. I have some BTCs on Cryptopia, it seems that this exchange will not support SBTC. Is that correct? Thanks for clarification.

Hi wendelllee, right now the exchanges that are supporting SBTC and will be crediting them to their users are:

Huobi - https://medium.com/huobi-global/regarding-sbtc-distribution-f770d0db9356
OkEX - https://support.okex.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003231371-Announcement-on-supporting-SBTC-trade

And Binance:

Binance's Stance on Bitcoin Forks:

For future hard forks of Bitcoin, Binance will take a snapshot at the time of fork. After the forked blockchain and wallet are available and stable, Binance will credit the forked coins to users and allow 7 days to withdraw their forked coins.

We will be releasing more information on supported exchanges soon thank you!

seriously 1:1 ?

Hi yes, if you have 1 BTC at the time of the fork you will be credit with 1 SBTC. If you have 0.1 BTC, you will be credited with 0.1 SBTC
