I look at it this way.
One day an altcoin will be worth more than a bitcoin and have a better community behind it.

Mine has been out of sync since day one. Let's see if the distribution fixes this.
Strange, I'm pretty sure when I first installed it it didn't say that. Loaded it again today and it does say that. I never created a conf file. Is that needed?

The coin isnt technically released yet, People will have to wait till tomorrow most likely for when it is actually released, then coins will be sent to those people who have waited the allotted time. followed by all the others throughout the day getting paid. But i dont think distribution will start till tomorrow and only for those who's countdown timers have reached zero.

Just checked this, and mine says out of sync as well. first day it didn't
it loaded all the blocks but when it was done loading still the out of sync message.
I have 25 connections. In Europe(Spain), version 1.5.0.0
yes I've also got 25 active connections just the red message next to the amount that says out of sync

I can understand that but if the dev already has the coins, then it shouldn't be out of sync.

I mine Sharecoin in multipool and I think all those who want to support it should do so as well.
I don't have an ASIC miner. So, I'm not sure I could be of much help in the pool. But, I do plan to just send some BTC to the pool to support ShareCoin. It's the least I can do.
Just checked, it is a scrypt pool. So I'll probably rent a minor for a day at betarigs and mine to the pool to help out. Probably better than sending BTC to the poll I guess???

Is it normal that the wallet says "out of sync", even though there are 8 connections (I modified the .config file as indicated in the OP)?
