Holy COW how long does this (1.1.0.21) wallet take to even find a connection? The old one never fully synched, but this one won't even see any connections.

mine finds connections relatively quickly , the syncing takes a while but it WILL sync , best to leave it over night in its current state imho

shame about this , as part of the orig team i always believed in Silk and thought the coin def had stuff going for it over other alts

I would have taken this project on in a shot ... however with zero coding experience i would have burned , sales and marketing was my strength.

Poor Camel

Q

Can you explain this better please. I'm still grateful to you because you have been the only one helping me to recover my silkcoins.
Thank you

My post is a mistake , after reading a few pages back i thought this project was coming to a close..

It is not , SILK is standing and people behind the scenes have been working very hard on the wallet and the future of SILK, so keep the faith .. stay tuned.. i am sure you will all have some good news soon Smiley

I still can't seem to get any connections in my Win client.. going to try Linux I guess. Maybe I should just build from master github?

My only concern here is getting my stuff out of 'trex.

Any addnodes for *.21 client or should I wait for new client (or build Linux)?

My wallet has finally synced!
Anyway, IDK if something is up, but ive had hundreds of transactions of new coins that have staked yet my balance has gone up very little.
I see under the transactions page that some have a question mark next to them and no tick, what does this mean exactly?

Orphans.  Have orphan removal tool coming with new release.  Client is coming.  Will send for beta once its finished.

I was using the latest tag from github, so I'll try the latest pull instead. That may just solve it.

I wasn't using a .conf until I lost patience waiting for connections. This is on a machine that had no silkcoin wallet before so no issues with old peers.dat or such. I did download that .zip of the chain from github too.

TY for the ideas. I'll tinker some more.
I've found through trial and error that a lot of wallet problems (for various coins) are resolved by clearing redundant registry items. This can't be done with a standard registry cleaner. You need a Uninstaller such as Revo or CClean which will search for registry traces and files left behind by previous versions. Revo works best for me.
Avoid wallet installers if at all possible, and install manually. If my suggestions work, pleas leave feedback so that others can adopt them if they encounter difficulties.
The blockchain zip was updated a while back when I asked for help with sync problems. But even so, it's a painfully slow business catching up. Run your wallet every few days to avoid it getting stuck. Let it run for a few hours, not just minutes, after it's synced.

FYI, Trex is delisting SC on Dec. 15th.  I don't have time to sort through this thread at the moment so don't know if it's been noted or not.  I'm just trying to rescue some SC that are stranded there before I forget about them (again).

I'm trying to get a clean wallet synced and getting no connections. I've tried to find some addnode addies for the .conf, but can't seem to track anything down.  Maybe your new wallet will sort it out?

If you don't have a new wallet very soon that works, please publish some valid nodes on the OP?

Thanks.

The current wallet works fine for me.
v1.1.0.21-g32a928e
I suggest you download the latest version from github And a copy of the blockchain.
Backup your active wallet as (say) silkwallet.dat
Delete All Silk files and folders, if possible using Revo or another uninstaller that will remove all Registry components, or install on a machine that has not been used for Silk.
Run silk and close it.
Delete the blockchain files and folders (use the contents of the zip as a guide) and replace with contents of blockchain zip (don't just overwrite).
Let the wallet sync And Then replace the wallet.dat with a copy of your backup (rename your backup to wallet dat).
I don't use a conf file or addnodes. These should not be necessary. Just speculating, but they might even be counterproductive if they're out of date.
I assume you know how to find the appropriate files in their default locations.
Don't try to connect through a proxy such as Tor. This used to work and then it stopped working.
Best of luck.

Updated wallet and sync fix, upgraded seed nodes, massive cleanup, orphan removal tool, client hardening, Multi language support, new graphix   pre fork client should be completed by tomorrow.  Client will sync from nothing in a few hours.

  Apologize for the delay.

I had the same problem....syncing is very sloooooooooooooow. Better start your wallet again and most of the time it goes further where it has stopped.
Ive done that but doesnt seem to make alot of difference.
If i download the blockchain in full from scratch will that make any difference?
Im now at 89.99% at long last only 10% to go! lol
Hopefully the upcoming hard fork will address this Smiley

Cant wait till the upcoming hard fork, hopefully my wallet will be fully synced by then!
