SILK FORECASTS & PROJECTIONS

The total money supply of Silk (SLK) is calculated by aggregating the initial money supply and the lifetime Proof-of-Stake (PoS) static block reward as the following equations and graph illustrate:

M_Total= M_0+ M_PoS

M_PoS=R * B

B=978,000,000 Blocks; and R=2 SLK

Similarly, to DarkSilk, the static Proof-of-Stake (PoS) reward for Silk decrease the inflation rate over time.

The total money supply of 2,000,000,000SLK will take 1,984 years to come into circulation.

DARKSILK FORECASTS & PROJECTIONS

The total money supply of  90,000,000 DRKSLK will not be reached for ~105 years. It is calculated by aggregating the crowdfund superblock (Block 1), Proof-of-Work (PoW) rewards, Proof-of-Stake (PoS) rewards, Stormnode rewards (payments) and the monthly Stormnode budget superblocks.

To calculate the coins minted using Proof-of-Work (PoW), represented by MW, we use the equation:

M_W= R_PoW* B_PoW

RPoW is the block reward for Proof-of-Work (PoW) valued at 1 DRKSLK per block and BPoW is 43,830 – the average number of Proof-of-Work (PoW) blocks found each month. 

To calculate the coins minted using Stormnodes and Proof-of-Stake (PoS), represented by MS, we use the equation:

M_S= 〖(R〗_PoS+ R_SN) *B_PoS

RPoS is the block reward for Proof-of-Stake (PoS), valued at 0.1 DRKSLK per block, and RSN is the block reward for the Stormnode owner, valued at 0.25 DRKSLK per block. BPoS represents the 41,091 Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blocks minted each month.

MB represents the monthly Stormnode budget proposal superblock of 10,000 DRKSLK. To calculate the total number of coins created in one month, we user the equation:

M_monthly= M_W+M_B+ M_S

Each month, 68,212 DRKSLK are generated as follows: 43,830 DRKSLK are from Proof-of-Work (PoW), 4,109 DRKSLK from Proof-of-Stake (PoS), 10,273 DRKSLK from Stormnode payments, and 10,000 DRKSLK from the monthly budget superblock. The monthly generated amount of 68,212 DRKSLK can be used to forecast the lifetime of new coin generation to around 105 years. Money supply is illustrated by the black bars in the graph below.



After the first year, the supply of newly minted coins will remain constant at 818,544 DRKSLK per year. This constant rate of coin generation is due to the static Proof-of-Stake (PoS) reward, the Proof-of-Work (PoW) reward and Stormnode rewards (payments). This ensures a continuously decreasing rate of inflation with an average of 2.74% inflation per year, as illustrated by the white curve in the graph above.

Silkcoin will be able to be swapped to Silk at a 1:1 ratio on Weaver for an indefinite period.

DarkSilk will launch one month after Silk.

Weaver launches when Silk launches.

Silk has no PoW phase that rewards coins, just 10000 empty blocks to bring in PoS smoothly.

DarkSilk has unlimited PoW with a new algorithm, Argon2d. Blake2B is still used for PoS.

There will be crowdfunding phases for Silk Network development i.e. Silk, DarkSilk & Weaver which involves the sale of 4,000,000 DRKSLK.

GPU's has maintenance and needs lot of personal attention. I know because of new algo introduces DarkSilk can be only mined via GPU..

Yes, the entire plaform of Weaver is built to cater for Silk and DarkSilk and all future applications and systems take Silk fully into account and are built to support the price and usability. Also the DarkSilk wallet is quite a complicated wallet with many many features that most end-users will not use, or even understand how to use. Silk offers a simpler, easier, less complicated route onto the Silk Network.

What's the future of Silk after DRKSLK is released?

Further development, services, micro-transaction locations, better support, better codebase.

The development team is the development team of Silk Network and the Silk Network encompasses everything, Silk, DarkSilk and Weaver. They never moved

There is one project. Silk Network. Silk, DarkSilk and Weaver fall underneath the umbrella.

My apologies if you replied already to some of these questions, I couldn't find them.

Just so the community is aware  I have asked Gregory Betz to recalculate according to a 1%-4% interest yearly, at the same time balancing the Stormnode payments against this, whilst keeping PoW at 1 DRKSLK.

This is being calculated as I post this.

Once this has been calculated we will then take the mining information from Wolf and the statistics on mining etc and recalculate once more before launch to ensure nothing is left to chance.
