I would donate for paying a coder to get hemp to x11 asap, is this possible ?

I asked the dev to make a fork on the github repo with the x11 work that is done so far so that I could look at it. They responded by telling me to start from scratch if I wanted to try and change it to x11 with pos.

It was 2 weeks ago when I asked for the x11 pos code they had. Maybe they have changed their mind since other x11 with pos coins already exist.

I am sure they could use your expertise ! HempCoin take advantage of people like this let them in Smiley

People who have wallets, are they in sync? What block number are you on?

Everyone is in Sync. We think the exchanges put it on 1 min block time instead of 30 seconds. We are verifying.

Sorry what does that even mean?  We don't have anything to do with block times.  The below two transactions both had 6+ confirmations and then were reset to 0.  The blockhash for them are 0000000162ac952ca1d6f887e091cd036596ea45768ef479ed431d7470a4c42c and 00000000cbfedcd7628587ee76bd7368a19175e06119ef8ab1992874fb348b41 respectively... This has nothing to do with being in or out of sync.

Uh OH.

No x11 and double spends on exchanges.

Things are looking grim.

This coins wallet has not had an upgrade since launch. We need an openssl update and we need p2pool mining. I've contacted the devs for that and they do not have a clue or do not care, If they can not release p2pool code how do you expect they implement x11 ?
If x11 is to difficult to implement there are many other interesting protocols.
Could also ditch pos completely.
I would really like to see some movement in the hempcoin code on github

There was one upgrade to the wallet, but it didn't change the version number.

I wanted to get you all up to date on x11. Despite trying for countless hours to integrate (fork) the existing source into a x11 we are not able to do it flawlessly.  The issue is in the PoS algorithm which is much different than a regular non PoS. We cannot release something less than 100% correct. We are sorry to get your hopes up and don’t like touting something and not following though but this is very difficult to accomplish with 100% accuracy at this time. As soon as we thought it was close it would fail in long range test. We have had some top coin coders in the world spend time with the issue and at this time it’s not an option. Also a coin swap which is super easy is not an option.

We are going to take a break from it and spend time promoting Hempcoin. On this subject the Proof of Stake coin is significantly better in regards to attacks and asics hog mining. There are not a lot of Stake coins based on the amount of coins out there. Especially one with Bonus Blocks.

Here is a like for those not familiar with the Hempcoin Stake (PoS) feature.

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Proof_of_Stake

Take a few minutes to check out our BCT Front page. We have added lots of new links.

Shout out to sillypothead for the Faucet. We tossed a few in the faucet.
Shout out to placebo for pushing Hemp in Pot BCT.

Any other promotional help for Hempcoin is appreciated.

Cheers!

Dev

HempCoin is PoS, but is it X11? The OP just says PoS.

Oh, I get what you're saying.  Grin

The dev was trying to switch it over to x11, but it doesn't look like it will happen.

We have not touched the source. Its all the same since the start. We are getting an answer for this very shortly.

What's up with network health? I just checked the pools in OP.

There are a LOT of orphans all of a sudden.

Is everything okay?

what the heck your right... i only see them on thc.mine-coin pool, the others seem fine..... but i just realized i got 8 orphans in a row in a span of 2 hours ( 1 hour ago - 3 hours ago ) solo-mining, but have gotten a good block since that batch..... richie from bittrex just posted about seeing something like double spend not too long ago.... maybe related... this goes beyond my knowledge of the blockchain.

Yes, Bittrex disabled this for Double Spend: https://twitter.com/richiela/status/462315749672230912

I wonder if anyone can do an audit of the blockchain to see when the attack occurred.

This would the second confirmed Double Spend attack is as many days. We altcoin community member might have a big problem on our hands securing these blockchains.

At least Bittrex is quick to catch this before it goes too far and CryptoAltex did a great job too.

We need to up our security measures as a community to stop this type of thing. Once a cybercriminal gets a taste of easy money they'll keep coming back.

How do you fix something like that?

It's a relatively complex issue. I think detection is probably extremely important.

Monitoring of newtork hash rates with an alert system would be very helpful. If such a system existed then there might be a way to load balance hash.

I've been talking with multiple people about this issue because I think it's going to grow.

There are literally hundreds of low hash altcoins that could be vulnerable to attacks. And new altcoins with coding errors are too.

The community needs to fill in the gaps on defense. On the bright side, that's a likely profit center for anyone who specializes in the area.

It does look like there is some kind of issue with the wallet.  I haven't seen an orphaned block in weeks and now almost every block is showing up orphaned.
