I just downloaded the windows wallet.
ZERO connexions to the network after 5 min....
I created a .conf fine and putted the nodes provided in the head message of the thread
still ZERO connexions....
Could someone help me understand what should be done (which is not required
usually with other wallets)?

look in the post just above yours; click the link to blockexperts.com. click on the 'peers' tab at the top of the page, then add the IPs to your .conf, preferably, at the top of the list, or replace those not working ... then, restart your client. good luck!

Finally after hours, during teh night I got some connexions and it is now syncing.... really slowly.
Surprisingly, I was showing the syncing bar with an estimate of what was remaining...
I needed to close the wallet and restart it, and no, I don't see the syncing bar.... just the little icon
turing on the right bottom corner...
Hope it will be worth it in term of staking rewards after all that ;-)
Actually staking is not working properly right now. That is probably why the # of nodes is so small. There is no real point in hosting a node other than to support the network. If we can get staking working properly it might be possible to rent a $10 a month server and receive $20 or more a month in coins.
Right now the community donations set aside for a bounty to fix PoS is at 180,000 THC. At current prices that is around $250. Quite a nice payday if someone knows how to fix the PoS with in a day or two.
