Miners do not get the coins for free, they invest in electricity and mining hardware,
When buying you'll probable get them cheaper than mining especially in places where electricity is expensive

Miners do seem to be living the good life right now. They get 100% of all the coins, while everyone else gets nothing. It would be nice if everyone who helped in any little way could get some coins.

Since we have a trusted dev, a mid-mine shouldn't be a problem as far as scaring people away like a brand new coins premine, but not sure how this idea would turn out. More coins can always be written in later, maybe 20 million is a little steep for now? That's 8% of total PoW. And I'm sure it would be staked when PoS get fixed, adding even more coins.

And we do have the fund already started, should account for that, as well.

I think THC is different than FTC, PXC and UFO. It could have a different effect than those coins had. Who knows though.

I was reading some other stuff from a few pages ago and I'm starting to like the idea of a more evenly distributed POW mining reward over the next 5 years and then the next 25 years. I'm also interested in knowing what percentage of blocks will be POS blocks? Is it a 50/50 split between POS and POW blocks?

I'm starting to think that POW miners get too many of the coins. Instead of asking people to give there hard earned money to start a "fund". I would be in favor of somehow getting 20,000,000 "premined" THC during the next wallet upgrade put into a multisig wallet. @with the lemons could get 1,000,000 coins for doing the wallet upgrade. Then the rest could be stored for uses over the next 20 years. Unlike other premined coins what were used to dump instantly, this premine would be done 1 year after and would hopefully not have any negative possibilities associated with it.

I see that algo switch is very controversial. What I'll do is that I'll make new wallet with POS fix and inactive NeoScrypt. We can decide later when and if we should activate NeoScrypt.

I hope that in doing so, that the inactive neo code doesn't conflict somehow or slow things down. All it takes is a forgotten // or definition/command that searches for something neo related.

I figure that you've already put work into the neo coding and you'd rather put it in the official code rather than scrap it, which is understandable. What if you went multi-algo: scrypt and neoscrypt? Possibly add sha-256 and x11/13/15?

I'm not doubting your skill, but as a precautionary measure for the inactive neo code: can you please leave notes in the code for yourself or the next dev if, God forbid, something happens to you?

This is what I meant when I said Neoscrypt did nothing to help the price in FTC, PXC and UFO. I should have elaborated and said the price kept on their downward trends after the neo switch. So for me that's proof enough that for 3 coins with the algo has shown us THC's path if we switch. It's not about the algo, it's about adoption. Algo switch is like buying a gasoline car or a diesel car from the fuel economy point of view. Not talking about other things like diesel engines last longer, etc etc.

Algo switch would be good IF MP's were all over this coin and lemons didn't want to try and combat the MP's, but they aren't. Hell, there's only a few people mining at this time.

We don't need our DIRECT goal to be more miners. Network only needs 1 miner to keep the chain moving. We need adoption. Miners will come with adoption as THC gains popularity. Adoption will bring more people willing to buy THC, and will absorb any dumping. Adoption adoption adoption!

Adoption is the key, sure. But as I said, I'm just developer, it's not like I can add line like "int64 nAdoption = 90000;" and BAM, instant adoption.

If you want to help somehow, go ahead!

NeoScrypt will probably bring more people to the coin. It won't have an amazing effect and make the coin worth 100,000 sat but it might grow the community size. Does anyone here own an ASICs? I own 280x cards and would mine THC again if it was NeoScrypt. Overall I think this will work out well.

I agree that HEMP needs connection to hemp and merchant adoption, however, I'm just developer of wallet, this is work for other people.

Gpu's are cheaper? If i bought 6 r9 290x's 8 months ago when I bought my Asic, it would have cost a little less for the gpu's plus rig components. By the way my asic is fried so I'm not mining at the moment.

Falcon = $4200 - $850 store credit
6 r9 290x = $3600 + mobo and chip @ $100 and ram $40 and psu x 2 @ $150+

Yes, it is cheaper. You don't have to buy 6 most powerful cards on market, that was your choice. When I was mining, I was mining on 2 used 5850 cards and one new 280x.

And you really can mine on GPU in your computer if you want. That's not possible with ASIC algorithm.

I was comparing asic to one gpu farm rig. I don't have those cards. I have a 270x. And it is possible to mine with gpu on any asic algo, it's just not efficient.
