Anarchy is not chaos.
Biomech and tagore - you might want to try manual worker diff, looks like you're both getting lots of invalids using vardiff, manual diff seems to sort out these problems.

I switched back to Eligius for the time being. You had set it to diff 64, and as near as I could tell it made little difference. I'll try again once I get my Antminers. Then I can afford to lose a bit playing around.

On the pool I can  see  I´m mining at 7 Gh/sec most of the time,  I use  10 Gh/sec with 6% in rejected + stales, and for short times web page show me 10 Gh.   I wonder if I really mine at 7  or almost 10.  Is there any place I can see more info about my mine status?   My address is   1M1RgK3HjNBzzdrR5L8E1WWVtYgegfDMnp

thx

Biomech - sorry it didn't work out for you, what address did you mine under? Were you seeing lots of invalid shares or rejects?

cad_cdn - I'll look into merged mining at some stage, but I have to say I have no idea how to set it up.

Added the ability to change your TomCoin manual diff settings through the site, please see http://tomcoin.org/tomcoinsha.jsp and http://tomcoin.org/tomcoinscrypt.jsp for further details.

There were more rejects than I ever get at Eligius, but not anywhere near 50 percent.

Also, even after switching over to the "set" 64 diff, the website continually showed 10-40 GH/s lower than what I was getting from CGminer. I'm used to about 2-3 percent variance, and it's on both sides of 80.

At least at present, it appears that your service is incompatible with the Technobit HEX16B module.

Well, that was a failed experiment. Nearly a full day mining to get .006 BTC, where I would have gotten around .012 on Eligius. Back I go.

in a nutshell, you can mine more than 1 coin at the same time, namecoin for example can be mined from the same bitcoin mining process.
(btcguild) does this, if you have an account therel this is from their help section:

------------------
Q:   What is a Merged Mining/What is Namecoin?
A:    Merged Mining is a process where other coins can be mined simultaneously with Bitcoin, without losing any speed/efficiency. BTC Guild participates in merged mining with Namecoins. Namecoins were the original "alternate coin"/"altcoin", where the Bitcoin technology was adapted to a system with a purpose. Today, Namecoin is used as a decentralized DNS system for registering domains with the '.bit' suffix. These can only be accessed by users who use a DNS server which will resolve .bit domains.

All miners on the PPLNS method are awarded Namecoins. PPS workers do not receive Namecoins. You can ignore them, use them yourself, or use a Namecoin exchange to trade them for other cryptocurrencies/Bitcoin.

There are only a few other coins capable of being merged mined. These coins have near-0 value, and offer nothing "unique" like Namecoin does. As a result, BTC Guild does not merged mine the other coins which have the capability (Devoin/IXcoin).
-----------------

Vardiff seems to cause problems for some miners, port 3329 is manual diff and defaulted to 16 which is probably a good figure for your miner.

Have to say I don't know much about merged mining and I haven't found and guides about setting it up.

I've just started to mine here Tomcoin sha256 with bfgminer, I've never seen more than 1% rejects on other places, but here I get 25% rejects (duplicate share).  Do I have to do something I dont know to fix that?  I have 10 Gh/sec. My address is  1M1RgK3HjNBzzdrR5L8E1WWVtYgegfDMnp

EDIT.  After trying many things I've changed to 3329 port, and now no duplicate shares at all.

curios about merged mining namecoin, as in 'other' bitcoin mining pools that also merge mine namecoins, is this true of your pool?
they have a separate namecoin payout address as part of each's account.

or

are you already merge mining and calculating those proceeds into our daily payouts?

thx

Yep that's on the 'wait and see' list for the near future, lots of room for improvement when it comes to stats.

The hashrate should be pretty consistent after 10 minutes, you might see a brief drop on a coin switch but it should only be very minor, if at all.

Done, please switch to 3329 Smiley

Oops. Did that about an hour ago. It's definitely getting fewer rejects. It is now at diff 64, will see how it looks in a bit. Still showing lower hashrate by about 10-12 GH/S than what CGminer is showing, but much more stable than it was... and that was at diff 16.

Thanks!

Oh, is there a page that shows estimated payout, or is that a "wait and see" thing? Sorry to pester you. Just learning the pool.

EDIT: Now seems to show much closer to what I show in CGminer.

However, and I don't know if this is universal or just my rig, when it switches coins it appears on the stats at like 1/2 the hashrate for a couple of refreshes. Then it's back up to where it should be. I'm guessing it's just the nature of the switching feature, as I don't see the fluctuation in CGminer other than a series of four or five rejects. Then it stabilizes very quickly.

Pretty damn cool! Cheesy

I'd say so, vardiff seems to cause these issues on quite a few miners from what I've seen. If you post your btc address I'll set your diff to 64 (most likely the best for your device), you'll just need to switch to port 3329 afterwards.

At the moment its just the one page with all the btc addresses and current hashrate but I'll be adding more in the near future.

Thanks, I'll try that. It's gotta be a bear to keep the stats straight with that many coins. I ain't complaining, just curious.

Here's the addy. The miner is two Technobit HEX16B's, if that gives you any guidance. I'm not a complete noob, but fairly close to it. I guess that makes me an incomplete noob Cheesy On Eligius it is usually at 64.

Cheers!

Edit: should I switch ports now?

Ok, I've never used a switching pool like this before, so if this is an ignorant question, so be it.

I'm mining at the pool right now, and it took forever to show me above about 50 GH/s, it's now showing about 72. I'm putting out 79-84 according to CGminer. From reading the thread, I know there's a fair amount of rejects, and CG is showing that as well. Not ridiculous, just a lot higher than I was used to at Eligius. Is the high rejects why my hashrate displays so much lower than at Eligius?

Also, when mining via the "tomcoins" option, is there a direct stats page for my address, or is it just the main page there?

I like this concept, but I'm feeling a little naked here Cheesy

I'm thinking of mining here for a bit, to check it out, as soon as I get my next payout at
Eligius. I haven't read the whole thread, so if this has been covered don't kick me too hard Cheesy

What kind of performance vs. bitcoin has the pool done with SHA-256? I see you consistently beating up on litecoin with scrypt, but that is currently irrelevant to me as I have an AMT/Technobit 80 gh/s ASIC device.

I'm gonna try it anyway, I just wanted to know what the performance has been.

Thanks!
