I'm Embarrassed to be here
Probably a common question.
I upgraded and synchronised my veriwallet 1.6.5.1, but I have zero connections.
After some research I found the list op vericoin.conf nodes and made a vericoin.conf file which I added to the vericoin file.
I had to make a vericoin.conf, because it didn't exist in the file.
I still have zero conncetions, even after reinstalling and synchronising twice.
I am Imac user.
What to do?

1.6.5.1 is not the current wallet. 1.6.5.5. is That may be part of the problem.

VRC is reinventing the blockchain and its going to go to $50 M cap at least. Respect the persistence of Pnosker over the last 3 years thank you to the team this is it boys.

VRC should be valued over 100m in place of other BS coins like STR and the correction is now happening

Price action is abt to get autistic and community is going to grow exponentially over next few weeks

Best of luck and I am a full supporter of this tech innovation

Just looking at the price charts on this coin and it looks like a MAJOR pump and dump coin. 20 million market cap to 11 million cap like 8 times in 1 day? SMH....

I caution everyone that is thinking of investing in this coin. Im sure its a great project but these pump and dumps will turn off investors.

Before making such statements, perhaps read the white paper and ask around the forum. VRC is not a PND by any means. While everyone else lost value the last 48 hrs, VRC continued to gain. Pretty damn nice in my book.

I am following Vericoin since day 1 and believe in the team! Bought me some more vericoin.
60% of my assets are in vericoin, that's how much I believe in the technology you guys develop from scratch.

Like Doug said, it's the way coinmarketcap tracks price across exchanges. There API for Jubi has been up and down causing the market cap to swing wildly as the price on Jubi is quiet a bit higher then other exchanges. If you look at Polo or Bittrex's price chart over the last couple of months we've been on a steady increase in value. No big pumps or dumps like others.

With the upcoming releases and more development coming I feel safe with money here and in Verium.

This is actually just an artifact of averaging by volume the price discrepancy between the Jubi VRC/CNY market which has a consistently much higher price for VeriCoin with decent volume compared to the BTC markets.  The price can't equilibrate due to regulations on BTC in china. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/vericoin/#markets

HI,

One of the most complicated wallets to setup im so confused now.
There is VeriCoin wallet which i have downloaded and synched.
No idea if you can mine to this wallet? i have not found anything conclusive.

Then there is Verium wallet which is also installed but it is out of date it does not synch.

I am not sure if the 2 wallets work hand in hand.

I notice the Verium wallet has a mining option, possibly CPU only.

I dont understand which wallet i should use for mining, and how you should mine, and with what miner.exe for windows, because this is a part that most of these coin starter forgets to mention, which is so frustrating.

so i guess my question is :

which wallet must be used for mining
why is my verium wallet not synching - it says 0 connections
if you can mine then how so, within the wallet/s
can you use GPU and CPU
can you mine with 3rd party miners and which are they and how do you do this solo

thanks

Sorry your finding it confusing but it's really simple. The Binary-Chain will merge both chains of VeriCoin(Proof of Stake Time) and Verium(Proof of Work Time) into a parallel chain working together. This will speed up both chains and allow faster blocktimes, faster transaction speeds and better security.

VeriCoin is staked in wallet which you will gain interest on the amount you hold in your wallet.

Verium is mine-able with a CPU only with the wallet miner. There are 3rd party mining software for use on pools and I do believe there is one for solo mining as well.

Both VeriCoin and Verium will be in one wallet (Gemini) which is being developed. This will allow you to stake and mine at the sametime further securing the network. Since Gemini is still in development we have two wallets currently, most people in the community are running both at the sametime with no issue. You can learn more at www.vericoin.info

As for the connection issue it happens in 10% of installs mostly on windows machines. We have fixed the issue and are testing it and will be released in the next wallet update. There is a temporary fix for the connections here http://resources.vericoin.info/category/technical-support-files/

after installing latest wallet, vericoin.conf file should be users/appdata/roaming/vericoin folder. If its not there then you either downloaded wrong version or there is problem with the installation... once you find vericoin.conf just copy paste seed nodes

Really liking the VeriCoin/Verium project, the dual blockchain & pos-time tech, branding and concept. Some great detailed Youtube videos targeted at intermediate blockchainers are good for attracting team members, community contributors and smart money.

The next step I'd take is to be approachable, explainable, memorable and super-simple for new users to get onboard. I'm looking forward to the project polishing its consumer-facing marketing communications and effort futher on the road to the holy grail for a crypto currency....mass distribution.

Perhaps look to DigiByte's gaming-addon distribution (players earn free DGB while gaming). This strat was ingenious as getting a crypto in a big bunch of young people's pockets provides a potent wave of influence... the gamers are part of one of the most socially connected, meme creating, viral envoking demographics who have very little central banking system indoctrination.

If DGB had Veri's tech and a little more marketing polish, it'd be a top 10 capper.

I've got a vision for Veri, let's hope we get there. Either way, compared to the overall market, it's an extremely undervalued alt.

Hey Guys,

Like the VeriCoin silver coins made in 2014, socal is doing Verium physical silver coins as well. I'm very happy with mine from 2014 and I'm getting some Verium ones as well. Check out his presale page on VeriCoin forums if interested.

Here: https://www.vericoinforums.com/threads/pre-sale-one-troy-ounce-999-fine-silver-physical-verium-coins.1576/

You can also pm him on slack as well to make BTC, VRC or VRM purchases.

cheers for posting that. Contacting him for one. I think in time these will be something of great importance and significance to have.

It's interesting that every coin this guy spams goes through the roof lol Cool

And no VeriCoin will not be delisted Roll Eyes

I don't think polo will be delisting coins anytime soon after what happened recently. They basically handed a quite signifficant percentage of their market share to Bittrex.

yeh that was pretty silly of them. Some of the coins they delisted were quite active actually. Anyways, i think its better this way. To distribute the markets. Its never a good idea to have one major outlet.

What happened recently to polo?

They delisted a bunch of crypto currencies, some where dead but some still had active development

That guy sure is interesting. He goes from coin to coin and trashes them, having spend literally months since he joined trashing LBRY Credits, which by the way has gone up 30 fold from where he started trashing it. Should have shut his mouth and bought $10K worth instead.

I am not sure if he even owns 10 doge  Grin
