@ ereborltc: nothing, just impatience because of the low price. Simply forget it, I hope we can install the new wallet soon.

The entire Escrow Fund now belongs to the VRC community!

So there goes ALL the FUD out the window.

We appreciate what James brings to the table and hope to continue a solid partnership going forward.
We'll still be asking for donations to increase the Escrow as that will help the community in a lot of ways down the line but yeah… this is a WIN/WIN.

Smile. Looks good on ya. Smiley

A win win for the community but I dont understand why should james do all this and not get rewarded for it? What would be his motivation to actually make it happen ?

I can't speak for 'James' but he did just release an IPO on his SuperNET tokens on bter.com over the weekend. It raised 3,000+ BTC which only a small % actually goes in his back pocket. But if I were to guess he wants his SuperNET project to be as valuable as possible and he is leveraging some of the tools vericoin has in it's back pocket (like the relationship with moolah.io) to make his project as best as it can possibly be.

This is just a complete guess but yeah I agree with the point you're trying to make; there has to be something in this for him to have him dedicate the time to this.

thanks for you r reply. Have been very busy so I didnt see your post until now. I can share your thought about this, but will it be enough. I dont know exaclty what the motivations of james where to donate the reward to the community but I think although there are people who don't like money as much as other people, facts are that to live you need money, if james is to develop for vericoin its going to cost him time and therefore money so wont this be a bad thing in the long term?

don't think money is an issue with james these days Wink

Maybe not for James, for me it is  Roll Eyes
thanx for letting me know that but what does it have to do with these posts?

been soooooooooo busy... Anyone knows whether the physical VRCs have been sent out?

Socal got a job adjusting satellite equipment on a boat, so he has literally been out at sea and offline mostly.  He should be back soon though then the coins will go out I believe.

I think you guys, hire someone capable developer becaus now socal is busy in his job.
So other developer will take his post and work for VRC.

Socal isn't a developer, he just sold some silver coins.

Someone just found an exploit with the Raspberry Pi so if anyone is using one to stake Vericoin may have to take a look at this:

To test your own RPis enter the following into the command line:

env x='() { :;}; echo I am vulnerable!' bash -c "echo This is a Shellshock vulnerability test"

If you get the following output you are OK:

bash: warning: x: ignoring function definition attempt

bash: error importing function definition for `x'

This is a Shellshock vulnerability test

If you get the following output you are at RISK:

I am vulnerable!

This is a Shellshock vulnerability test

To fix the issue (if present)

Close down your wallet first (just to be safe) Then run:

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get upgrade

This will automatically fix the exploit - re-test using the above command and you should be fine

Weirder and weirder posts in this thread as time goes on. Socal was never a developer, therefore no need to hire a capable developer to replace him.

Read the thread before jumping in discussing development issues.

Hey guys just wanted to give an update. We have used this relativley low volume, low interest summer to really work on the backend, make strategic partnerships, build the infrastructure, and a build a new wallet UI, a new foundation. The new wallet is on the main branch of github if your on Linux, it's in its final form. We are making some minor formatting details universal across all operating systems and tweaking things here and there for optimal performance and experience, till it's just right. Then we will release final builds for the three OSes. Thanks for being there with us through thick and thin, it doesn't go unnoticed and is appreciated. After the release we will do a hangout and update everyone on the new stuff and goings on behind the scenes. I believe thin is behind us and I am excited about the future of VeriCoin and hope you are too!

Ok James, just for you I won't ... but the prospect of yet  another "thrilling" hang out at this point is a bit too much, dont you think?
just for you: http://youtu.be/EQmKDP3tNOY

Oh, the official nakedbits.com is even better.  Thanks James
