jl777,
Hope you don't mind but I pulled this off your blog. I was curious about your story and figured instead of asking you a bunch of questions I could just go read it myself.

I started out with 2 bitcoins that I had a hard time getting. Finally had to by it via localbitcoins and paying $100 premium. That seemed wrong! I stumbled into Ripple and at the time (not knowing any better) it seemed like a big improvement over BTC.

Ha! I remember you (jl777) over at the Ripple forums! I didn't put it together until I read that blog post that Xosihc just posted. You were quite the prolific poster if my memory is correct, and a bit of a loud mouth (me too!). They didn't like it when you posted about a NXT project (I can't remember which one) -- wasn't that one of the major ones? I took your side on that one as they were being idiots.
I left those Ripple forums too as they were getting too stupid all the way around (not the people, but the mods), but now I wished I had paid more attention at the end as I would have probably seen and followed your move to other stuff.
Anyway, I just wanted to mention my sudden recognition of jl777 as it jogged so many Ripple memories. And not that anybody cares about some random opinion, I'm sure, but jl777 was all about making money even in his Ripple days and it doesn't seem as if anything has changed since. I don't know him personally, so I can't "vouch" for this project per se, but I do know that his concentration is all about making things better (more profitable).
OK, that is enough -- just wanted to basically say hi, I guess. Best of luck on your SuperNet project!
ripple seems like years ago. I had to tolerate it for so long until they shutdown their CFG mining. Ended up with the most XRP mined and for a while that made good money, but I had ramped up 500 dedicated servers so the rampdown pretty much ate up all the profits.
I just pointed out ripple was totally useless, even for the one use case they claimed they solved. the spreads were too high, the volume too low, they say its free, but you lose 50%! thats a big fee just to send cross currency payment. Their volumes were dying so I identified the most active market to bring to ripple. Happened to be NXT. Lost big money from all that, but managed to transition to NXT when the ripple mods punished me for talking about NXT.
also SuperNET is not "my" project, it is all of crypto uniting together. all this squabbling between coins makes us look like little children to the fiat money guys and until we can make a professional behavior standard and expected, crypto will remain niche.
