With all the events that are scheduled for today, this could be a very fast pace, exciting day for VRC.

We may have a large influx of new investors here today. People will be looking at these forums, and using other vericoin resources for help, advise, ect.

Lets show everyone looking at Vericoin for the first time what this community is all about!

whats going on with the volume of all the altcoins and especially of vrc? it's so low that it scares me.

Posted From bitcointalk.org Android App

Coins are not being stored on these exchanges anymore, not after the mintpal scare.

This is good.

edit: I see VRC has more volume right now than many on mintpal, it's in 3rd place:

DarkCoin   260.014 BTC
CloakCoin   69.579 BTC
VeriCoin   52.949 BTC
Monero   52.683 BTC
XCurrency   35.304 BTC
BlackCoin   27.450 BTC

Have deleted the wallet twice and still can't get past the bootstrap screen.

How long have you waited?

While it may look like it's not doing anything when that screen is displayed, it actually IS working (in most cases). It may take an hour, possibly longer, for the entire blockchain to be downloaded. If you look in the VeriCoin folder that contains your wallet.dat file, you should see a file named blk0001.dat. If that file is growing in size, all is good! Once it reaches approximately 91 MB in file size, the wallet will load.

Hello
IMHO the VRC team is missing out on a huge opportunity not adding any useful content to this thread. I understand they have their IRC channel and all that but they need to realize there is a massive community of crypto supporters that won't take the time to sit at the IRC screen all day and only use things like ANN pages to get their info.

Just my opinion - I'm sure someone will start bashing me for it now.

No bashing, just in disagreement. I can't imagine it being mostly just day traders who use bitcointalk ANN threads as sources of information.   Go to http://veritalk.info or http://reddit.com/r/vericoin or http://twitter.com/vericoin for updated info from the devs, they appear in all these places daily.

It would be best for the devs to let this thread go away imho lol.

I was thinking something along those lines. Its better to not have direct association with a forum that is let run amuck like this. Having a direct link to here and the other social media from wallet is a neat feature, but actually might be a step backward for media relations sake.

I have my doubts about the whole Bristol PR thing, but just maybe things like this are why big media firms would avoid us. This forum would be toxic for a major brand to associate with.

That said I like the forum myself, and its useful for some people, but a direct tie might be to much.

Well I guess I still just see this as an opportunity but I totally understand what you mean.

And not to go on a rant about that Joel guy or whoever he is - but that whole Bristol PR thing was a total joke from the beginning. After that Google Chat when he mentioned their name - you check out their website (which looks 25 years old) and some guy who appears 80 years old runs the show. That had disaster written all over it from day 1. Watching that Joel dude talk on Google hangout made me cringe. I almost dumped all my coins just in fear of knowing someone like that is associated with the team.

i downloaded the latest wallet from vericoin.info but still the wallet says that u need to upgrade to version 1.3.3.. The current wallet i have is not syncing and the coins are on stake from last three days..Any help would be appreciated..Thanks

What system are you using for your wallet? That message everyone is getting. You can check what version you are on in the help setting of your wallet. Click on the "about vericoin" tab and that will tell you what version you are on.

I am using mac..

Oh damn.. I was just wrapping up my explanation but wanted to say I'm using Windows 8.1... Sorrry I wish I could help ya out but I'm not sure how it's different for a mac.

I'm sure someone will chime in.

Thanks guys for helping out. I will try to follow the instructions..

No problem, if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask, someone will usually respond with help before long.

i think i probably need the conf file for mac cause my wallet is upgraded but it has only one active connection sometimes none..the blockchain is not being downloaded..

I don't use a mac so I am trying to get ya the info from other sources.

Well as a on again/off again day trader this is exactly why I still use ANN forums haha so you are spot on with that. I do still follow the twitter feed, as well as hang out in the IRC channel every now and then. I guess I just like using bitcointalk.org for my info - it was probably a more useful tool 6-9 months ago when it was mainly used by most coins.

Hello
Can somebody clarify to me when this forum turned to complete horse &@#*??! I can't remember the last time something actually useful was said about VRC.

Are you looking for anything specific that I could help you find?

Well last I heard 7/19 was going to be the release of the new fiat/VRC aspect. I'm assuming with last weekends fiasco that was delayed/pushed back? If you have any update on that, I would greatly appreciate that.

Also, fork debacle aside - has the wallet application made any new progress this week?

Thanks for the quick reply! I guess I just wish there was more useful chit-chat going on in this forum =p

This is the last official thing I could find in this forum. I am not sure if they mentioned anything on the google hangout from 7/15. If you haven't seen that yet its worth a watch.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.7778997

Hey,

I do appreciate you taking the time to find that for me. I did in fact watch the Google hang out live. I completely understand the team was coming off one hell of a weekend - but I still didn't take anything useful away from it. I was in charge of reporting to a group of VRC holders in my city what the recap of that Google hangout was all about and in my follow-up e-mail the next day I pretty much recapped it in 1 sentence "you guys didn't miss anything not watching it, nothing new to report"...

Also the fact the most recent update as far as wallet applications go was pre-hack, I highly doubt those timeline are still going to be honored.

This is why I'm trying to figure out what, if any, news there is. I'm not trying to be a VRC hater - I've pretty much been 100% in since 4 weeks ago.  #panichold4life
