Time holding coins is a factor in the consensus though so the more time that passes, the more likely you are to get below 12 hours and get a real stake. You are at a precipice, you can wait longer or get some more coins. In your situation though you could just shut down wallet for a week and then restart it again and you will probably hit one. Key point being when you do hit one, you will earn max interest for that whole time period because you will not be penalized for not staking with fewer coins. Wallets are only penalized by time they could of staked but didn't and it's still not massive penalization in most cases. The more coins you have the more staking you must do to earn max rewards.
If you actively stake you will earn a higher percentage of interest on your total earnings than someone who owns more - even much more - coins.
