The good folks here generally pick something that is cool or "good enough" but they don't consider the effect the logo has on the average person not on this website. We need something that is effective, not cool or unique.

The other ones are cool for techies but a couple of the #6 logos are like an international brand.
Too bad we can't vote on them individually. I'm sure they would get more votes.

Why don't we spend a couple of hundred at 99designs and get submissions from a variety of logo designers? Same as a 50-100 vtc bounty

Check mark means something is correct and right, so use check-mark as "V" in vertcoin logo is elegant.

Agreed. The contest isn't really fair because the #6 logos are all lumped together into one.

they should have a contest, current logos are ugly and unprofessional, the last two entries purchase something of quality.

For the green color, that generic green of the actual logo is too cheap and doesn't reflect a distinct and serious image.
#006633, web safe, works very nicely for UIs and is distinct due to the bluish tone.
Good scalability (UIs, tiny logos on exchanges, favicons etc..)
Works perfectly in any dimensions, greyscale and b&w.
Shadows, fine lines, outlines are not suited for a logo mainly used on screens/low res.
Vert needs a slick ID, not only a logo.
- defined colorpalette for web & print
- logo (that works from 16x16px up to unlimited)
- dedicated font (that is free, professional and represents the spirit of cryptocurrencys)

These are the only logos that would connect with everyday people, I think. "money for people" is also very good. It's more clear than any other, and simple.
How about we poll average people instead of miners and developers? Wouldn't that make more sense if we want (everyday) people to use it?
