This item seems perfect.
Elastic is perfect because it has perfect devs.

Quiero mi bocadillo
If someone shows me, that the following pseudocode algorithm (yes, it can be executed on a Turing machine) can be executed on the ethereum network in one go, I will personally tattoo his name on my back.

Code:
t="d"; for(int i=0;i<89945794410000/20 + 1; ++i) t=SHA3(t);

Beware of the promises you make .. there are times when we are wrong Grin

Can I ask how you know this?  Do you know what other actions Elastic can perform?

General coding knowledge. It's turing complete, so any action is possible.

Wrong, ElasticPL is not Turing Complete

Exactly. Also, just as a reminder, Ethereum is not Turing complete as well ... no idea why people still claim it. I can easily write down an algorithm that can be represented by a Turing machine but definitely not be executed in the Ethereum network.

EDIT:

Assuming an SHA3 operation has gas costs of 20 szabo (read it in some tutorial) and we have a total ETH supply of 89945794410000 szabo.

Can you execute it in Elastic? It's a bit of a large number for the loop.

Can I ask how you know this?  Do you know what other actions Elastic can perform?

It's pretty simple.  It is no longer profitable to GPU or CPU mine bitcoins.  With elastic you will be buying other people's computing power to carry out computations.  Unless you can get it to integrate ASICs in some way then it would not be cost effective - that is unlikely to happen since ASICs only do one specific task and there would be little point.

Could anyone tell me if Elastic platform can be used to mine Bitcoin,..... Yes or no , please explain.
Thank you!

Long story short: yes, but doesn't worth it (way too expansive).

I vote for just 'EK', don't want to confuse people. EK's sounds good too, easy to say.
EK = Elastic Knievel?  Grin Sounds good to me  Smiley

Indeed, "Knievel" seems pretty cool and quite appropriate given EK's work.

I'd say, in lack of an serious objections, we should move with it.  Cool
