As far as I know there is no exchange yet and actually Xivra is not ready yet. If Xivra goes to an exchange then there will be much more interest in Xivra, which is good but also some things have to be done before that.

It's my opinion I need to update checkpoints in the source, atleast 1 dnsseed server needs to be up and running (this way no need for addnode=*.*.*.* .  There should be clear documentation on how to build the QT GUI for windows.

anything else I am missing ?

Hold your horses, Ans34 Smiley

The Xivra (is it pronounced Shiv-Rah?) is only a day old. First it will have to be active for a while and start to get a few days of mining under its belt.

Though I wouldn´t put it past Cryptsy to start trading in less time then that Cheesy

It seems to me, that at day of start i saw link to exchange in first post. That's why i ask

Hi! What about any exchanges XIV to any other crypto?

Actually I want to buy Xivra  Grin I want to be able to give people a reward for contributing and since I am not a real miner I am already low on Xivra's . For this reason I am still planning to setup an additional pool with a x% fee to be able to reward people.

I got some other alt coin currencies somewhere but I will need to dig them up which can take a while ( read: not this year ).
I know do have about 15 FTC.

So tell me , who wants to sell XIV for FTC ?

Until something better comes along here is a block crawler for Xivra. Let me know if you see any issues.

perhaps im doing something wrong here, but my attempt at solo mining resulted in every block i found being rejected.

So i switched to pool mining, cgminer shows im connected to the pool and have a hate of 450ish,

however looking on the pool website i see there are no workers connected. Its possible i freaked out cgminer restarting it from within an RDP session,

Are there any IRC channels for support on this coin ?

-1st of all thanks kr105 for building the QT client, I guess I can go back to sleep 'normal' again. Having said that I still need to master it to be able to build it myself and make a clear public doc about it.

-Thanks Chris180Z for answering some questions which I was about to answer.

-Thanks all for the 'not expected' support and mining power .

-I will explain a bit why it takes long before mined blocks/Xivra get into your account.

Once fresh blocks are mined it takes a maturation age of 600+20 block buffer for this block to be confirmed as a real block and before the freshly mined Xivra's actually can be spend.
Out of my head I think (not 100% sure) that both bitcoin and litecoin have set 100+20 block buffer. How does this work in practice :

Xivra 600*75sec = 45000 seconds = 750 min = 12.5 hours before your freshly made Xivra's are actually spendable, this is an average which depends on the real speed of the blocks being found.
Bitcoin 100*10min =  16,5 hours average (rounded down)
Litecoin 100*2.5 = 4 hours (rounded down)

I see a lot of altcoins having much faster speeds as in 30second blocks and 50 blocks to confirm or something similar, this is for a miner quick from mining to the walled but this makes them vulnerable as when an attacks happens on a chain (fork or other) there is less time to react and the possible damage is higher when a 'patch/solution' is not implemented quickly and others can be warned (example exchanges). And attacks can and do happen regularly.

I would not be surprised if Litecoin itself and other 'coins' will actually change these settings from 4 hours and lower to anything between 12hrs and 24hrs. So basically Xivra is at this moment less conservative then Bitcoin but more than Litecoin and it's followers.

As for the mining pools out there, I do know that there are pools of several currencies which actually pay out faster than the actual confirmation time and this is purely done on trust as they will not get the payout themselves before the confirmation time in the code has actually been passed. For a brand new currency as Xivra where there is no pre-mine and the pool owner does not have any Xivra himself before the launch he can not set the threshold lower as he does not have anything to pay the miners before he gets the Xivra himself.

This story is only valid for freshly minted Xivra's and does not apply in anyway to the transaction speed of existing Xivra's.

I hope it is understandable and without too many errors as my native language is not English.

-For those having problems connecting:
Make sure you have a .conf file with the line 'addnode=176.9.1.6' as explained in previous posts.
Make sure your firewall is not blocking the application

saddly ,there's still no block source aviliable

Here's what i have in my xivra.conf file

rpcuser=green
rpcpassword=x
rpcport=43519
addnode=176.9.1.6

Open a new .txt file and put that info into it. Make sure every piece of data is on its own line. Then save it as xivra.conf

Put it in your C:/Appdata/Roaming/Xivra folder

Once you do that, close out of your wallet and reopen it. It should start syncing.

Thanks, will check them out. Be sure those are permanent nodes, btw. Where did you get them? Those might be just other Clients running?

Donations in XIV are appreciated, btw Smiley

Oh no sorry they are just temp in case the one posted goes down, I am sure they are clients.

I'm not entirely sure how you find out your own node ip. I plan on keeping my wallet open for the next few days and would offer the IP until we can get a good list of permanent nodes available.

CoinPN:
create a textfile called "xivra.conf"  in your roaming/xivra folder. Make sure it isn´t named "Xivra.conf.txt" after that Cheesy If you don´t know where that is, look at descriptions in any other Coin thread.

In there you put:

listen=1
daemon=1
server=1
rpcuser=**youruser**
rpcpassword=**yourpassword**
rpcport=43519
rpcconnect=127.0.0.1
addnode=176.9.1.6

replace **youruser** and **yourpassword** with anything you like, can be short and easy like "abcd" and "1234"

the important thing is the "addnode" since this is the node the client will try to sync with. everything else is actually optional, but required if you ever plan to solo mine, so it doesn´t hurt to put it in there Smiley

oh and @cienki7 :
The Pool is fast and a payout requires 600 confirmations to go from unconfirmed to confirmed. So this will only take a while, don´t worry. I have been mining for a day now and still some of the payouts from 12 hours ago are trickling in.

Thanks, that worked Smiley.

More nodes:
209.6.251.147:8333
186.55.19.128:8333
173.74.80.104:8333
92.233.93.109:8333
128.73.9.55:8333
128.68.90.179:8333
216.197.139.42:8333
136.159.7.240:8333

EDIT: I can also confirm kr105's QT looks fine to me. Thanks for making it Smiley I would donate but I only have a HD6790 mining Sad.
