Guys, hi all  Smiley

How do you mine MyriadCoin using Groestl algorithm ? Which miner do you use ?

I tried to mine via sgminer v5, but -k myriadcoin-groestl algo is not found there. Trying to find out what is more profitable to mine: via groestl or skein algo Smiley

Cannot find place to mine at. MiningPoolHub gives me this address:

1.  stratum+tcp://hub.miningpoolhub.com:12005
2.  stratum+tcp://us-east1.myriadcoin-groestl.miningpoolhub.com:20479
3.  stratum+tcp://asia1.myriadcoin-groestl.miningpoolhub.com:20479

All of them makes my sgminer just freeze.

Looks like we have our first v4 block, someone is mining on the release candidate Smiley

Code:
getblockchaininfo

Code:

when the update is released?

and what are your future plans
maybe there is a document?

Release Candidate 2 has been released.

https://www.reddit.com/r/myriadcoin/comments/4r37tb/myriad_01130_rc2/

If there are no more changes required to this release candidate, the final release will be made this week.

For the next couple of months we will be focusing on getting the new release deployed and on building and encouraging the infrastructure around yescrypt mining.

For the long term we are discussing various proposals, but these are still in the early conceptual phase.

any guides on how we can start mining using yescrypt?

You can't mine yescrypt until the hard fork, which won't be for at least a couple weeks I think, but then just look for guides to mining bsty, because afaik they and unitus are the only coins that use yescrypt algo.

You can solo mine using the built in miner by setting:
Code:
algo=yescrypt
in your myriadcoin.conf file, then in the debug shell you can run:
Code:
setgenerate true
where x is the number of cores you want to dedicate to mining. There surely will be more optimized yescript mining software/pools today/at-some-point.

Keep in mind, however, that this won't happen until two conditions are met (in addition to running 0.11.3.x):

1) block height must be above 1764000 (probably early August).

2) a majority of the existing Myriad mining community (60%) has transitioned to 0.11.3.x (v4 blocks). It doesn't matter the mining share, just the total moving average of blocks. In fact, you can mine qubit (or any of sha/scrypt/groestl/skien) on v0.11.3.x now to help add consensus. Query your current pools and verify that they have upgraded. (Although I don't think the final v0.11.3.0 will be released until next week.

I have some statistics here that I will attempt to keep updated: https://cryptap.us/myr/myrstat

If you want to see how this looked on testnet: https://cryptap.us/myr/myrstat_testnet

myriad.nutty.one (network stats) is down?

Working fine here. You can always check:
http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/myriad.nutty.one
or something.

Yes but it redirects to myriadcoin.org instead of showing the network stats.

Ohyea, I see. That's weird, maybe just had power loss on server or something.

Is this coin dead?

Not at all. New release changing one algo coming soon, and some tweaks to consensus rules. Also one of the few coins to be upgraded to modern Bitcoin v0.11+ codebase.

Also, relative to its market cap and inflation, Myriad has easily one of the highest hash rates. There's usually about 1/3 as many GPUs mining MYR as there are mining Vertcoin, despite having 1/8th the market cap, a lower inflation rate, and 40% of our hash also being merge mined by ASICs Cheesy

Is anyone else excited for the yescrypt hard fork and for MYR to become the only coin to date that can be mined with ASICs, GPUs, and CPUs?

CPU only algos are for botnets

I don't think botnets would waste their time for ~1/5th of block rewards competing against normal miners such as myself who want to support the network without owning a GPU or ASIC. But if the botnets did want to mine myr-yescrypt, at least they would be supporting the network too. They wouldn't be able to attack the network unless they're also in the business of GPU or ASIC mining.
