It doesn’t matter the version. Devs told you not to make a pool. XUN is not designed that way. It is not compatible with current pools. They will release a compatible code later so anyone can make their pool.

if a pool causes a currency to break; then thats an issue beyond the users.

If you actually bothered to read, you'd know that someone setting up a pool (with old code for Git )  is what broke the blockchain.  So that would be a good idea....

Why did you do that? You broke XUN again! What part of No Pools don’t you understand? Stop using pools.

someone set up a pool that was creating version 2 transactions; i'd informed dev as it was the only transaction hanging around in mempool that wouldn't commit to a block. i'd found 12 blocks beforehand with no issue.. i'd probably stick to what you know bud.

Aren’t you the one who tried to break XUN by setting up a pool? No pools.

It’s a public pre-mine not a private pre-mine. Which is a good thing since it is necesary to test the coin. Test net is no longer reliable since all versions of XUN worked fine on testnet, but when launched broke down. This is a chance to reward risk takers and those who support the project.

nothing prevents you from learning, unless you'd rather be that way.
anyone is free to setup a pool for this, takes about 30-40 minutes from start to finish.

I'm just going to throw this out there and the team can do with the information as it will.  Remember that perception is everything.

If you conduct another restart, and initial mining is only done by select individuals, you may as well call it what it would be..... a pre-mine.
