Now ZEN is for ASIC miners only. How many miners have ASIC comparing with GPU?
This is very hard to calculate because some of them are on pools but others have their own pools.. You can look at Suprnova and compare how many workers they have and what percatnege of all hashare they have..you can get an estimation.

If you look at a site like whattomine, you can sort of figure out how much higher the difficulty (and lower profitability) horizen is than some other coins, so gives a good sense that it is mainly asic.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if there were virtually no gpu miners, since you could always mine something else that is more profitable, and trade it for zen if you like the project that much.

Horizen’s First Anniversary of the Secure Nodes Tracking And Payment System

https://blog.zencash.com/horizens-first-anniversary-of-the-secure-nodes-tracking-and-payment-system/

Quote
On the one year anniversary of the tracking system, over 133,000 payments have been sent out each week for Secure Nodes. There are currently 23,000+ Secure Nodes running and over 2,800 Super Nodes. We have 2.5 times as many nodes as the Bitcoin network currently claims. Not bad for one year.

Long confirmation is a good preventive mechanism for potential attacks, because attackers will have to spend much more money for their wanted attacks with long time of dominant hashrates (that is unrealistic).
Actually we have 51% attack protection implemented,
so those confirmations are actually very annoying, and we hope they will start decreasing.

It doesn't make sense. It will be always good for Horizon network if the network can maintain it's healthy, with strong, effective supports from miners' hashrates.
I don't care about whether Horizen is ASIC-resistant or not.

It was a cross-team collaboration and introduced on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/8jeyxt/introducing_the_privacy_coin_matrix_a_crossteam/

Yes, we need one with updated numbers.  Grin

Does anyone know what the inflation rate actually is? Surely it isn't actually over 29% - that seems wayyy too high (even for a relatively new coin).

I understand that new coins tend to have high inflation for obvious reasons - if you're a 2 year project roughly half of your coins will probably be minted in one year (depending on emission curve) so high inflation, but zen is a fork, so inflation shouldn't be all that high given all the existing coins in circulation from the fork block.

Here you can compare the ZEN inflation to other coins:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-weHt0PiIZWyXs1Uzp7QIUKk9TX7aa15RtFc8JJpn7g/edit#gid=237137882

ZEN inflation calculated around June is 29,23% on an annualised basis.

Please note that I did not check the numbers. Please also note that the halving is not factored in.

The original article quoting the above table is here and is about PIVX Economics: https://pivx.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/30000029620-pivx-economics
Who did this comprehensive spreadsheet? It is really cool but it is outdated Lips sealed

Will Sapling be implemented anytime soon ?

Community is asking for Sapling support and we’ve increased priority to Sapling. We are preparing to take the step
Because the Sapling is so comprehensive, we are moving out TW/BW and RPC method to another release.

Just updated my Paytomat wallet and I see that now ZEN has zero-fee transactions, good!
Is it only on Paytomat or other wallets too? I have some ZEN left on Coinomi, which will be enough for few coffees
but in future I will use Paytomat wallet definitely!
Recently I had a chance to speak with their team in Kyiv!
