That's not a fiat problem, that's a lack of payment methods problem...

well payment method are related to fiat, seeing how bitcoin payed method is different

Please rephrase that post and give it like 2minutes of your time because that is not making sense to me at least or is it because i have just got up hold on i will read again..... Nope makes no sense to me, payment methods are related to anything you can make payment with Cheesy Can you please clear it up what you are trying to say. Thank you.

you don't use a debit card with bitcoin, that's a fiat payment method, i hope it's clear

People obviously don't see the benefits that are right there. I've seen similar things happen and the people getting mad and even hitting the machine in the past.
I guess we should make Bitcoin a subject in schools, maybe in 10 years we will have a better generation.
how do you mean, whether bitcoin will be included in the subject matter or created a new subject?
it is not the main thing, it must be approved by the local state government. if it can be done should be tested is applied in a lecture
Not included, but taught separately. 1 hour a week should do fine.
In private schools as well? I don't have knowledge about education laws.

The advantage which I see using bitcoin as a payment method here for the parking is that if let's say you know you are going to exit the mall very soon, you can just initiate payment online half an hour or so before by just scanning the QR code to make the payment using your smartphone. After that proceed straight to the parking lot without wasting any time. Of course, that couldn't be easier
You could do that with fiat, though. Some benefits with BTC could be

1) lower cost for the consumer compared to forms of payment with high transaction fees.
*even this could be done in fiat if a debit card is used, except with BTC, you don't have to worry about being charged for insufficient funds like is common with banks.
2) no chargebacks (good for the parking business).
3) no currency conversion fees for ppl who switch countries and just want to use the same money as usual.

But if we wait until they are in economics schools, they will have missed the train.

We need to be teaching them about blockchain technology while they are in kindergarten or preschool.

I doubt they just make bitcoin payment for just a parking bill Undecided

Yes it must be add in curriculum schools, maybe in entrepreneur or economic schools

They won't approve it b/c then the kids will drop out of school and just yell "Moon!" and "It's dead!" online all day.

Yea, it's a problem with all these coin / fiat operated machines. We recently had NEW fiat being printed, and coins replaced.... the older machines did not want to accept the NEW coins. {So you have NEW coins with the correct value, but the machine is still accepting old coins}

It is frustrating indeed. Bitcoin can solve that problem indeed and you will see more of that in the future. The only problem... it's still a machine and machines break down and components fail.

They should develop a parking APP for a mobile phone... you pre-load coins for parking, and when you approach these gates, you just scan and it opens the gate.... when you leave, you scan again, and your amount gets deducted, and the gate open again, for you to leave.  Wink

Bitcoin as a subject in school? Wow , thats cool! Shocked

and thats not gonna happen  Tongue
There is no reason not to. Depending on the laws, a private school could possibly add it.
Teaching children about the benefits of Bitcoin and the technology behind it would surely yield with a great generation. Such a generation would be likely to find new ways of advancing it.

Sooner or later, a man who wears two faces forgets
I have posted crap like this before but a lot of things annoy be about fiat and I often think there must be a better way.

Today I went to a large retail park in my car. I wanted to pay for the car parking. The charge was 70p or £1.20 but unfortunately I didn't have the correct change in my wallet.

I then ended up borrowing a £1.00 from my wife to pay the £1.20 even though it would have been longer than we wanted to park for.

I went to the machine and tried 5 or 6 times to get the machine to accept the pound which it wouldn't do and kept spitting it back out. I ended up going back to the car and getting another pound to buy the ticket.

How easy would it be to have a QR code on the ticket machine for the length of stay. Scan the code, get your ticket. Done.

That would be really awesome , parking tickets and fines are too much and the more hassle is waiting for them in line .
If only all that could happen through bitcoin , so easy and Great

Yes, Bitcoin will succeed for many reasons.
Of course, QR codes can easily be tied to fiat/debit cards, so they are not exclusive to Bitcoin.

I understand your sentiments but this is just a problem with a machine malfunctioning and it could happen with QR Code scanner too. But you're partially right, another added option to pay using Bitcoin for simple things such as this would really help as it is ire-reversible mode of payment.

Yep this system is in the works. First company to start implementing a strategy like this that I know of is Parkt, more will follow in their footsteps

It makes sense for them to do it, no chance of machines getting robbed well at least i would think a robber could get nothing. The ease of payment will be good and like someone touched upon maybe after knowing the address you could pay in advance without even needing to go to the machine

Addresses aren't made to be re-used... a new address should be generate whenever a new car pulls into the spot. But yeah, while you're out, if you realize you're not going to make it to your car on time, you could/should be able to pay to the same address that you'd originally paid to to extend your time...

That isn't a problem with the currency itself but a problem with the services to send and receive it.  So fiat isn't the problem here.
yes indeed, the problem is in the payment gateway
not in the fiat currency
with bitcoin this problem will be solved easily
but we have to make people know what bitcoin, and benefit using bitcoin
