Easiest way to tell it’s a scam is if the prices are too good. That is usually a dead give a way. A scammer normally would overcharge on their goods.

But in the future you just need to google the domain and you will know whether it’s legit or not. Don’t buy from any site until there are comments and reviews from other users who actually received a product.

This forum is a great resource.

This guy has multiple domains ( https://sentdawy.com/ ), and scammed 1 month ago me and several others with incorrect items we got shipped (expensive powerbank). We got an scarf (1 dollar) in return.

https://www.facebook.com/Sentdawy-104705632245923/

Check the reviews. He is messing around with crypto, and aswell normal money. He is on paypals blacklist.

Sorry about the ugly experience. Lesson learned, I guess. Next time, if you are not sure about the service, it's better to ask members for opinions before you send them money

Assume everything new is a scam until proven otherwise. If you don't trust your own judgement
find someone you do trust, or just stay away.

How can you tell if it’s a scam?  I have been working with a site that for believe scammed me and it has identical Registrant info in Whois. Www.cryptomine-invest.com

Ask this question next time before you send money to an unknown company. This is a mining section, not a discussion of sites that attract investments. Try to understand mining and earn cryptocurrency if you have inexpensive electricity.

I think sometimes its great to do much research before we tag something as a scam . Am not against your post but am really in support of it. Especially all this mining sites . We must be careful anytime we deal with something that is related with money. I nearly felt for almost half of this sites thanks much buddy

I don't understand why would anyone risk getting scammed by purchasing some high-cost hardware (ASIC or any other hardware that costs over $1000) when they can purchase from the official site? I mean, to risk loosing few thousands dollars just to save $100 or something like that. That's just stoopid...
People just want to save money any way they can, and that's normal, especially when mining profits are tight like they are right now and every penny counts, but too many people forget one simple rule: "If it's too good to be true, it most likely is".

Besides that, there have been times when ASICs have sold out and the only place you can get them is from a third party, or third parties can ship out quicker than buying direct (e.g Eastshore.xyz, etc). It's those who don't research sites and don't know how to identify scams well that fall for this, though this comes with experience.

OK, I get that. But if someone is willing to spend almost 0.5 BTC (if I read correctly, that's the price), I think it would be normal to check the site and check with someone who already purchased from that site (and is not a newbie on BTT)? Don't you think? I know people are trying to save money, but buying from unchecked sites is just too risky.

That's not enough proof from an account that has two posts and was likely created in an attempt to stop the site from being called a scam. A better document for proof would be a picture of a miner delivered from the site next to a piece of paper with a timestamp and your forum name, though even that's not enough proof that the site is legit tbh. I'm pretty sure everyone here's going to agree that this site's a blatant scam.

According to their WHOIS info they are hosted by Qhoster.com
Qhoster.com has a snail mail address in Uruguay.

What kind of decent company would buy webhosting/colocation from a hosting service _based_ in Uruguay?

how do you know its a scam? because of email adresses? or actual registered address?

its a scam because the item they are selling is not available even from original seller and only acceptable payment is crypto with no chance of getting back.

BITMAIN has said time and again that they dont have any resellers but this site has put in the  address of bitmain in china to cheat.
also try clicking FB and twitter link.

Its 100% scam.
