Is price manipulation not allowed in the Bitcoin market? It seems it is all right to manipulate the price if it is beneficial to us but unacceptable if it negatively affects our holdings. Elon supported Bitcoin earlier and the price soared high. Nobody complained. Everybody was praising Elon and Tesla.

--snip--
Nobody cares about what it does to the price. Those crying about the price are the same people who would be fighting in Elon's name if they had DOGE bags instead of BTC. Its actually his flip-flopping and arrogance that has annoyed the community. Couple this with the downright idiotic notions he has pushed namely:
1. 100x blocksize and reduce blocktime. Something which everyone associated with Bitcoin knows isn't the answer to scaling
2. Makes crazy claims about "Working with DOGE devs".
3. Bitcoin has high energy usage and he knows of "some" crypto with <1% energy usage. (As if PoW is a joke)

Just within a day, he put up a Bitcoin Logo superimposed with some Japanese anime that had a DOGE on its shoulder. Then he turned it black (Probably after Max Kaiser said "Fuck Elon" in the Conference, which was childish btw).

All of these flip-flops means that he hasn't really understood Bitcoin. Coming from the background of launching rockets and millions of followers who worship him, he simply ASSUMED that he should take charge and save the world of cryptocurrency, by ATTACKING Bitcoin and supporting DOGE. To longtime Bitcoin supporters, this is the most arrogant and preposterous thing to do. You don't do this to a decentralized community that is over a decade old. Not even if you are Elon Fucking Musk.

About the OP, While it was strangely satisfying to think that someone's trying to fuck him over; yet as @Bitmover said, it is going to be hard to verify if this was really Anonymous and if they can make a difference. All we can do is wait and watch for some hack to tumble the supposed skeletons out of Elon's closet.

Wow things are getting interesting, and i learned so many new information here. Never knew tesla got money from government, i don't know whether it is the reason behind his actions and words, but i believe it might play a role even for a bit. Anonymous surely is a big and powerful group, and i'm curious to see how Elon will react to this, what will he do? What will the anonymous do? Kinda expecting that thing, but i hope whatever happens won't disrupt the market again, directly or indirectly.

Finally the community is bashing Elon Musk. Anonymous is a powerful group, let's see where they go.
Nothing much will change.
^ Definitely right, nothing will change
We might not see an immediate change and we cannot verify their capabilities but I wouldn't underestimate this group of people. Who knows how they will execute their plan/s.

But is there a need for this? Why should there be a kind of a cyber war?

If Elon is not pro-Bitcoin and is criticizing Bitcoin, should Bitcoin fans attack Elon on a personal level? If Elon is dumping his Bitcoin on the market, should Bitcoin owners attack Tesla and his other companies?

This intolerance against criticism kind of sucks. The Bitcoin market is a free market.
You are missing the point. Many people and groups perceive Elon as a market manipulator and he doesn't seem to care about the effects. All these tweets are believed to be a way to enrich himself/company and/or pals.

There's no problem if he trades his bags without all the noise he creates on social media. The attacks/criticisms he receives is almost the same with how youtube shills are being treated.

There is nothing new about investors not caring about anybody else. The game is always to make your value rise.

Social media is very noisy, both pro and anti Bitcoin. But the noise of pro-Bitcoin we always appreciate even if they are sometimes plain exaggerations.

It feels like we are in the movie, those guys will become the stars if they really meant what they said. This is kinda interesting where you will be curious about what these people do next. Anyway, we cannot deny that this might one of their propaganda which they create to give us some more dramas. Just like the normal thing we do, we don't need to take whatever these guys will tell us, we need to stay on the middle path to be safe whatever the outcome of these two parties.

This is a huge statement Against elon. But i don't so it will affect a signle percent to elon but also elon can't ignore what this person say or alligation against him. Well what i already thought elon has government support and he is doing this with collaborating government. Otherwise government also saw he is manipulating the market so he should in custody but nothing happen with him. So there has a clear vision of government also support his manipulation. But its not a rare thing all biggest influential person have to face government and has to collaborate with them. What i am thinking, others could be think different.

He is definitely a selfish person. Because of him, this market has been undergoing a very tumultuous period recently. He often changes his mind about cryptocurrencies. And it is really bad for the market. I hope that someone can draw the line for him someday.

From all the things Elon Musk has done in the crypto world it is clear that he is a bad influence on the crypto market. I think Elon Musk is a selfish
and emotionless person. His behavior shows Elon Musk has a bad nature and I hope Elon Musk leaves the crypto world soon. Hopefully Elon Musk
soon realizes his mistake and doesn't do things that make the crypto market worse again.

Here is their complete message:

Greetings citizens of the world

This is a message from Anonymous, for Elon Musk.

For the past several years you have enjoyed one of the most favorable reputations of anyone in the billionaire class because you have tapped into the desire that many of us have to life in a world with electric cars and space exploration, but recently your carefully created public image is being exposed and people are beginning to see you as nothing more than another narcissistic rich dude who is desperate for attention.

It appears that your quest to save the world is more rooted in a superiority and savior complex than it is in actual concern for humanity. This has been obvious to your employees for a long time who have faced intolerable conditions under your command for years.

It is also obvious to the young children working in your overseas lithium mines which are destroying the local environment as well. You have been open about your willingness to stage coups in order to install dictators in places where your toxic products are being mined. You have even prematurely crowned yourself 'Emperor of Mars,' a place where you will be sending people to die.

Your fanboys overlook these issues because they are focused on the potential good that your projects can bring to the world but you are not the only show in town and your competition is growing more intense with each passing day.

There are plenty of other companies working on space exploration and electric vehicles you are just the only CEO who has gained a cult following through sh*tposting and trolling the world on social media. In fact, many people are not learning that the vast majority of Tesla's income doesn't come from selling cars, it comes from government subsidies - selling carbon tax credits for your innovation with clean energy

This technically isn't your innovation though because you aren't actually the founder of Tesla. You simply purchased the company from two people much more intelligent than you are - Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning

Tesla has also made more money holding Bitcoin for a few months than they did in years of selling cars.

It is also more than likely that this Bitcoin was purchased with money from these government subsidies.

It is now widely believed you have been forced to denounce your company's involvement with Bitcoin in order to keep that green government money flowing into Tesla's coffers.

The energy use argument about proof-of-work mining is a very nuanced conversation that requires a fairly complex understanding of how power grids work and how excess energy is wasted by power companies and sought out by crypto miners.

This is a conversation that you have been having for over a year and were intimately aware of but as soon as your main source of income was threatened as your pretended to be clueless in an attempt to play both sides of the fence

Then, your move to create a Bitcoin miner council was rightly seen as an attempt to centralize the industry and take it under your control.

Reading the comments on your Twitter posts, it seems that the games you have played with the crypto markets have destroyed lives.

Millions of retail investors were really counting on their crypto gains to improve their lives. This is something that you will never understand because you were born into the stolen wealth of a South African apartheid emerald mine and have no clue what struggle is like for most of the working people in the world.

Of course, they took the risk upon themselves when they invested, and everyone knows to be prepared for volatility in crypto, but your Tweets this week show a clear disregard for the average working person.

As hardworking people have their dreams liquidated over your public temper tantrums, you continue to mock them with memes from one of your million dollar mansions.

You may think you are the smartest person in the room, but now you have met your match. We are Anonymous! We are legion. Expect us.

Finally the community is bashing Elon Musk. Anonymous is a powerful group, let's see where they go.

I think today's Anoymous is a little different from it was 10 years ago, and according to the information that can be found, these are some new people, given that many older members have been arrested over the years or have given up fighting for some other reason. There is no doubt that the ideas behind this movement have remained the same, but apart from a public appearance on YT, what else can we expect from them - to hack Tesla or SpaceX?

I agree with everything that was said in the video, I consider EM to be just a spoiled greedy manipulator who more than obviously has some kind of personality disorder. Luckily, he has completely exposed himself with his actions and will probably eventually join the house of infamous people like Roger Ver or CW Faketoshi.

Wow, so much new info from that anonymous vid, and so much disappointment. I always thought that Elon Musk was one of those people that come from a really poor family and build their way up because they're really smart and goal-committed. Turns out he didn't even build the company... Though he did create a video game at the age of twelve.
Anyhow, thanks for sharing that, I think the vid is strong and does send a message, but I think whoever did this ought to be more careful. There are literally words of threat at the end, one can press serious charges for that.

Would you mind explaining this a little further?

This would be quite interesting.

Well, surely the memes he posted was really very excess because he knew his influence can actually manipulate the market because people trust and follow him in large numbers and it's like "oh, you know I have tweeting habits, so invest what you can afford to lose if I become a critic of it at any time". It's gross on a lots of levels. Plus, if there were context, it would have been better, but out of nothing he posts these memes and keep his followers on a swinging pendulum. It's kinda cruel ngl.

Nothing much will change. The community can't stand before the whales. The cases like GameStop where WallStreetBets community initiated Short squeeze against Melvin Capital don't happen every day.

Elon is rich. He wouldn't understand anything that is related to guys losing money but he will be blamed and one day pays for what he is doing. Getting a lot of money at the expense of investors affected through his fud will not go unpunished.

There is social discontent already with how the president is running the country, prices are soaring and then Elon adds to all these will really make the chaotic world.
