2-3 th would be awesome, info hopefully will come out this next week.  I enjoy running them, they're fairly quiet ( 2 @ 67db ) and the cooling is adequate.

Well, I've just bought 2 Antminers S2, just in case...  Smiley

After following and reading this thread for a while, I'm sure enough everything is a fact
and just a matter of time know.

To bad one of the 2 miners, that I picked up both fully running, was dead when I arrived home.
But the problem is solved, those damned crappy Enermax PSU's have lots of problems.

Let's hope Bitmain can pull off a 3TH S2 upgrade kit, that would be really nice...

I guess the correct answer to my questions is....
Is it a go? Or not.  Was going to buy at least one more S2 if this was for sure going to happen.  Just would like a nod, yes or no.  The specs speculated warrant the interest.

Yes, please wait a bit more.  No additional info is available at this time.

I would also like to hear some updates on this so I'm keeping the thread alive Smiley

Hi BitmainWarranty,

Could you go over to the S4 thread and address the broken firmware issue?

Thanks

Bitmain, need some love here.  Some news has to be available about the kits by now especially if the plans were to sell by the end of the month.  Nothing like chiming in about something then not delivering, sounds like same old story we've encountered through other suppliers.  You know this forum likes teasers and for that matter deserves them. Cool  Just let us know if anything has changed in the schedule that's all.

Bitmain, my S2's are hungry and tired...... please release some more info.

Why are you running your S2 topless? Mine always ran hot when I did that. Also, why is it blasting directly at a wall? Tongue
For me they seemed to run cooler with the lids off.  The ambient in the garage is about 68f and both S2's are at 53c.  The
fans are running at 2280 rpm.  They are further from the wall than you think from pic. about a foot or just shy. Wink

Our S2's have been working virtually non stop since replacing the PSU's over year now. And an S1 tucked up on the top shelf working as well.

I can't believe how stable these Bitmain miners are. Mining FRC of course with a single reboot a year hope it pays off in a few years should prices spike again.

We will run these until they die. Upgrade kits... that be cool.

Are those Technobit boards down there Huh  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Not my server room.

Not my purchase.

Likely Asicminer blades right?

"Garden 8ghs units if i remember" - My partner in Norway.

They are powered down... too power hungry.

No idea. I haven't had time to follow up on it, and I haven't gotten an answer yet when I asked the same question.

.... The best thing Janet could give me as far as data protocols was "look at the U3 code". .....

Fair enough ... but which U3 code? the one in cgminer or is there a github repository where its been published by bitmain.

Someone mentioned a Spondoolies board to me, and asked about firmware dev. Since I'm not interested in SP chips at present and Novak's the programmer, I handed him over to Novak. He's been talking to another one of the guys about a BM1382 project I think. Are they signal-compatible? The best thing Janet could give me as far as data protocols was "look at the U3 code". I'm hoping I won't have to do the hardware and software both, but it's possible.
